Ok, I haven't played 9 yet, but I know it's got quite a few moments where their impact is contingent on playing the earlier games.

Trails fans who only play 8 and then 9 don't get any of that payoff then complain that 9 isn't good. But they don't want to bother with playing the earlier games...

i think there’s a lot that trails fans can get out of ys
people like to paint the two series as some dichotomy where one is for story and the other for gameplay, but that’s simply not true

ys has so much charm and love put into it, it’s world is just as living as any other falcom game

What's funny is by the time you've played the whole series, you've spent far more time with Adol than you have with any single Trails protagonist.

And yet Trails is apparently the only series that "makes you care about the characters." 🙄
