Hilarious video-but it happened to me word for word.My boss asked the exact same thing.I took my holiday anyway; came back to a “performance review” about defying him and “risking my employment.”Ever had this? What do you think of a manager like that? #CorporateDropoutDiary

Mass layoffs flood the market. Too many pros, too few roles. Economics does the rest: wages sink, leverage shifts, employers bargain-shop talent. Brutal equilibrium.

A note to HR/hiring: mistakes happen, but ghosting is a choice. If it’s a no, say no. If the role changes or dies, say that. Updates > false hope. Today it’s us; tomorrow it could be you. Don’t be ice holes.

Ep. 4 — HR & Interviews
I get that interviews take time. The problem is no feedback at all—ghosting. Hiring managers are busy; fine. But HR’s job is talent + hiring. If they can’t even close the loop, what are they for?

You can craft a flawless CV and still get buried. Why? Economics: too many applicants, too few good jobs. It’s not just ATS or HR. It’s supply vs. demand—at scale. Think AI changes that?

Ads read my mind but can’t read my résumé. Dear Algorithm: job that fits, good pay, real benefits (incl. dental), and a great boss. If you can push shampoo, push this. 🤞🤞PLZZZ 😆

Ep. 3 - HR + AI
ATS made hiring cold; AI makes it colder. Bias at scale, wrapped in math. Fewer humans, fewer chances. Losing jobs to AI is one fear; not getting hired is the next.

Let's talk about everyone's favorite corporate ritual: the exit interview. 🙄

You know that moment when HR asks, "Why are you really leaving?" and you're mentally calculating whether honesty is worth the risk? 👇

Exit interviews are theater. You smile, answer scripted questions, and don’t trash anyone - because you want your severance clean. Be polite, be brief, document everything, then leave.
What’s the worst question you’ve been asked?

Ep. 1 - HR is a Firewall
My boss got physical. HR gasped… then said, “Talk it out with him.”
Translation: contain, don’t confront.
Countermove: dates, witnesses, receipts.

HR in our heads: therapist, referee, career coach.
HR in reality: the company’s firewall—policy, liability, optics.
Use it for records, not rescue.

After 3 months of silence, I got the automated “after careful review, we regret…” email. They’d even said I was moving to a 3rd interview—never happened. That’s the cold, ruthless side of corporate right there.

Corporate survival kit: be seen, not serene; never outshine the fragile boss; and don’t telegraph your moves. Everyone runs three faces—home, public, corporate. Pick wisely.

“Quiet, piggy.” Tried that line on my wife—now I’m rocking a black eye. Conclusion: only the orange man can say it 🤣😅🤕

I’ve watched/read tons on the “AI bubble.” Truth: no one knows anything. Stress is sky-high about the fallout. Likely outcome? The rich get richer—bunkers🧟‍♂️ and longevity🤖—while the rest of us get FlOkEd!.!

Worried the AI bubble pops: shareholders keep billions, then fire tens of thousands. Those experienced folks flood the market, and jobs get even harder. One word comes to mind: FUBAR. The world will be FUBAR-ed.

I recall some yrs back: finally got the “senior” badge after chasing fairness. Raise: tiny. Boss: “I sold your case—now full dedication: nights, weekends.” That’s the carrot—title for show, your life as payment.

Absolutely true. Happens all the time. ZERO respect for personal time—that’s the current corporate pandemic.

Big lesson from corporate: stand up for yourself—bullies can be stopped. Yes, it’s a game of ego-stroking, manipulation, and networking. Play it, but don’t be a doormat. If the sharks smell blood, you’re done.

In corporate, “untouchable” lasts until you cross the wrong ego. Then you’re the offering on the altar. Ruthless, not forgiving. Stay alert—you’re only safe until you aren’t.

Friends and family are getting pinged after hours and on weekends—personal time raided “for the business.” If you’re sacrificing nights and weekends for someone’s “urgent” email, remember: that same person won’t hesitate to cut you in a “restructuring.”
