There will always be people who see art primarily as just content to be consumed. And depressingly, some of those will be people who should know better.

Seeing how much of the right-wing on Twitter is just bot farms, kinda lays bare how much hate and hatred is a project that needs to be constantly maintained, a fire that needs to be fed all the time lest it go out for a moment, so much time, effort, and resources to keep people angry and hateful.

I feel like at least in leftist US spaces, we all sort of know Thanksgiving is an iffy holiday with fucked up roots. The problem isn't just cultural attachment, though; it's that for many working Americans, this is the longest stretch of time you get off without having to take PTO.

I'm not even THAT hype of a Xmas person, but I'm spending this 1st Nvmbr w/end putting up decor. For me this is mostly just bc of ADHD: Decorating for Xmas always seems to take longer than other holidays. The later I leave it, the more it becomes just 1 more thing to juggle in an already-busy season

With SNAP/EBT cuts looming I highly recommend downloading this app! Basically restaurants and other food businesses will have available bags of random food they don’t wanna waste for ppl to buy for hella cheap! This has saved me sooooo many times when I only have $5 and need some food.

A thing about having bad executive function is like. The whole thought experiment where people ask themselves oh, what if I did X instead of Y, or made a difference choice at this particular point. Just doesn't apply to me. Because all my available paths & choices were pretty much dictated by ADHD

I'm not a Midwesterner, so I recently realized that, for all it's one of the most prominent US cities? I had no real clear image of the city's vibe. But after traveling thru recently + all the impressive stories of care & community organizing?
I now have *such* a high opinion of Chicagoans
