Yes, and it is infuriating, I agree! BUT my point is that he didn’t get to all this power by being dumb. And “dumb” behavior is a strategy that can work for fascists. Jason Stanley talks about this in Chs 3,4 of ”How Fascism Works”.

I wish people would stop calling them “dumb” when it is obvious they are not. Why is Vance, who lies all the time, repeatedly in interviews not lying about Homan keeping the bag of cash? Because he wants to signal that bribery is OK (just can’t call it bribery). That is evil, not dumb.

Sorry, no — but this is wrong action. It’s actually a violation of Buddhist precepts to wield a particular interpretation of Buddhist dharma to attack non-Buddhists for using meditation to try to bring more peace to their lives. Honestly — it’s very offensive!

Surreal moment for America. Needless to say, if the normal police ever pulled something like this — pulling every single person out of an apartment building and handcuffing them to run warrant checks — they would be sued into oblivion.

Yet ICE is going to get away with it entirely.

Fisher said she was handcuffed before being released around 3 a.m., and she was told that if anyone had any kind of warrant out for them, even if it was unrelated to immigration, they would not be released.
