I’m late but had to join in
In my living memory I’ve been incredibly lucky. Was too young to vote for McAleese. My family did not vote for her, but she was a pleasant surprise in both her terms & continues to be. They probably would’ve given her a vote for a 2nd term. Michael D was my first president. Couldn’t be better
Solidarity to O’Farrell’s family for this.
I got a much needed laugh from reading this, so thank you to the fessor.

Useful for when FGFF try to smear Catherine Connolly as being 'a Putin stooge' or whatever.
Dear Journalists, Muckslingers, adherents to the Ivan the Smearer playbook, and those who genuinely wish to know her position.

Always said it at the time, when she was my local TD and where the rules that DO exist still go blatantly unenforced: Heather Humphries is pro-pollution
Great thread here, shows the ‘green record’ of Heather Humphreys.

Is this what ‘pro business’ means?

Let's explore the Green credentials of Heather Humphreys - The woman former GP member Brian Leddin thinks should be president.
She advocated for an increased burn period during her time as Minister for Heritage, as well as prolonging the period during which hedgerows could be cut. #Spéirgorm 1/n
Not all forms of alopecia are permanent (I know this because I worked for a few weeks populating an online store in Niall Boylan’s hair replacement and laser teeth whitening “clinic”)
Aww he’s lovely. Reminds me of Worf and Chewie, who I belong to. www.instagram.com/worfandchewi...
Two four year old foxhounds. Chewie, left, wears a black bandana with the symbol of the rebel alliance, while Worf wears a red cravat bearing the iconography of the Klingon Empire
I’m sure said review will be carried out at great expense. They needn’t bother. They’re increasingly irrelevant and out of touch. Mr. Burns should just stick to the old landlordin’ full time.
The company I work for has recently made redundancies, which means we’re all on tenterhooks that it’s going to happen to us, and if it does, I have no way to keep a roof over our heads. We often rely on the generosity of others to eat. The government doesn’t care this is happening to people. 2/2
Not only are there no supports, but in my own case, my LPT bill has increased by 162%. Due to circumstances changing since buying our house in 2021, I’m the sole income earner. My wife, who can no longer work, is also, somehow, deemed ineligible for invalidity despite medical evidence. 1/2
What now for poor Karla the East German elephant?
My dad has an (apparently valuable) stamp collection which I’m set to inherit. He’s only very mildly, harmlessly nuts. The kind of nuts that extends to having unkempt eyebrows and strange views on cheese. He was also a union man and has a very progressive stance on life, so swings and roundabouts
Why the picture of Micheál Martin?
This might be the funniest day ever on Irish BlueSky.
One thing I’ll give Fianna Fáil: they’re probably the most consistent political party on the island of Ireland. There’s Jim Gavin running for office for the very first time and he has “forgotten” rental properties & financial improprieties lurking in his hot press like a seasoned old pro #spéirgorm
A good way to meet Humphries would be to invite her for an opening. New office in Castleblayney? A playground given a lick of paint in Bailieborough? Someone opening a packet of crisps in Clontibret? She’d bring along a body double if there was a sniff of her getting some of your Banshee Bones.
This reply has cheered my up no end. Thanks so much for not deleting it, pal. I’d have been way too embarrassed to keep it up.
I’d take it if no-one else wants it!
Sigh. The Good Friday Agreement to the Brits’ rescue again.

Also, the cunt’s name looks like a typo.
Just heard Chris Philp on BBC’s Today programme explaining why the Tories want to leave the ECHR. He claimed ECHR isn’t mentioned in Belfast Agreement - which is simply untrue. The UK govt agreed to incorporate it into NI law & give direct access to the courts (Strand 3). Why no BBC fact-check?
