In my living memory I’ve been incredibly lucky. Was too young to vote for McAleese. My family did not vote for her, but she was a pleasant surprise in both her terms & continues to be. They probably would’ve given her a vote for a 2nd term. Michael D was my first president. Couldn’t be better

The company I work for has recently made redundancies, which means we’re all on tenterhooks that it’s going to happen to us, and if it does, I have no way to keep a roof over our heads. We often rely on the generosity of others to eat. The government doesn’t care this is happening to people. 2/2

Not only are there no supports, but in my own case, my LPT bill has increased by 162%. Due to circumstances changing since buying our house in 2021, I’m the sole income earner. My wife, who can no longer work, is also, somehow, deemed ineligible for invalidity despite medical evidence. 1/2

My dad has an (apparently valuable) stamp collection which I’m set to inherit. He’s only very mildly, harmlessly nuts. The kind of nuts that extends to having unkempt eyebrows and strange views on cheese. He was also a union man and has a very progressive stance on life, so swings and roundabouts

Just heard Chris Philp on BBC’s Today programme explaining why the Tories want to leave the ECHR. He claimed ECHR isn’t mentioned in Belfast Agreement - which is simply untrue. The UK govt agreed to incorporate it into NI law & give direct access to the courts (Strand 3). Why no BBC fact-check?
