North-East London Foundation NHS Trust has been fined half a million pounds over the death of Alice Figueiredo.

In other words, the trust's budget will be reduced by £500,000.

Who is being punished?

Perhaps, after McSweeney has resigned, Starmer will get down on his knees and beg Sue Gray to return.

You'll be hearing a lot from Trump in the next few days - that it's fake news to say that he knew what Epstein was doing.

This was Trump in 2002:

“I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy. ... He likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side."

I see that the victims are due to hold another presser soon. Given the latest revelations, it should be an interesting event.

Trump has asked the president of Israel to pardon Netanyahu.

Netanyahu insists that he's innocent of the corruption charges brought against him.

If you're granted a pardon, it means that you're guilty.

Anyone who believes that the Epstein files have not been thoroughly cleansed of any reference to Trump needs to give their head a little wobble.

Bondi has had control of the files since January.

If Starmer's supporters have engineered events to ensure this leadership challenge story gets traction - as a way of flushing out Wes Streeting (who they believe is eyeing up the leadership) ...

If that's in any way true, these people are playing with fire and the electorate will punish them.

Trump v BBC.

He's run out of time to bring a lawsuit in the UK. The limit is one year from publication - which was October 2024.

He's bringing the suit in Florida - a two year limit. But the Panorama in question wasn't broadcast in the US and iPlayer isn't available there. No jurisdiction.

Nowhere in the hysterical pile-on against the BBC in the British press has anyone mentioned that BBC News now has 77 million viewers & listeners in the US and has established itself as the second most trusted news source there.

Trump's White House (in the person of Liar-in-Chief Leavitt) is now attempting to tell British people which news channel to watch.

To which suggestion most British people will either say or think 'fuck off'.

Today Britain commemorated the millions who died in wars on - among other places - the continent of Europe.

Also today, the government announced that it was going to help Belgium, under drone attack from - it's believed - Russia.

Trump has just promised to pay a dividend of $2000 to everyone in the USA.

$680 billion, incase you're wondering.

No problem. Trump will pardon him.

For no particular reason I've been listening to a lot of Amy Winehouse these past weeks.

And the main thing I keep thinking is: how much more wonderful her music would have been had she lived for longer and made more.

To be entirely fair here, at least one person will go with “Super strong skunk”, now the tricky business of shouting at clocks is out of the way
Anyway, stoked to see how the political tendency that has spent decades cutting mental health funding, advocating for driverless trains and mocking attempts to ban big knives deals with a train driver and guard’s swift action helping end a mentally ill man’s rampage with a big knife.

Here's one for students of history.

One of Trump's new Oval office decorations is as close as no matter to the Roman fasces - the symbol adopted by Mussolini's political party that gave rise to the name 'fascist'.

Seems to be a misconception that Andrew Windsor is being punished.

Living rent-free in a comfortable house on a private estate, supported with money from his brother, is not really a punishment.

But it's not intended to be. It's intended to avert public anger at the excesses of the royal family.

Mr Art-of-the-Deal.

1. 'Peace in Gaza'. Not a peace deal. Clearly, not even a ceasefire.

2. Trade agreement with China. Not a trade agreement, but a temporary arragment. China will import 12m tonnes of soybeans (compared with 27m tonnes in 2024) and the US will give China access to AI chips.
