It’s awesome! They both look delighted to see each other.
2 of my musical Mount Rushmore, side by side. (Ian Anderson and Roy Harper)
From this recent interview is certainly sounds like he’s closing in on completion of the next record. Then again it could be another 18 months before it lands in our ear holes.
Hard to believe, but we’re already entering 2026 release territory. Here’s the first with a release date that I’m extremely excited about.
I found it personally inaccessible for most of its lifespan compared to most everything else SW had released under his own name …however I revisited it recently and finally it ensnared me. Funny how records are sometimes like that.
And when I replied above, I didn’t even see the original post with the love gun cover. The gene tracks are the ones that stand out to me on this one, aside from his solo album I find this to be the record where his best efforts are housed.
Creatures is great. To this day I still really like Love Gun and Dynasty … and the Gene solo album, I feel like production on all those is rather lush. There’s lots of their other albums that sound really thin or basic to me in the present day.
They were/are a cornerstone of our youth. The first Halloween costume I remembered choosing on my own was a Kiss costume (like these pictured) in 1980 … I wanted Gene but the store only had Paul and Peter (which I chose).
I remember the glee I had picking up the copy I special ordered at Video Factory (circa 1987)… and then that feeling shifting drastically by the time I was 20 minutes into viewing it. 🤣
Martin Barre’s autobiography (aided by Pat Kent) hitting the shelves shortly. Cant wait!https://www.loudersound.com/bands-artists/biographies/former-jethro-tull-guitarist-martin-barre-to-release-autobiography-in-november

That sounds like a great blend of projects. Enjoy, as I’m sure you will!
Enjoy! Any teasers yet for what kind of sets you’ll see + hear? Seems like there’s been no fewer than 3 new projects of Neal’s this year.
I have seen Martin, about 10 years ago. Love what he’s doing with that band. And his studio records are also very enjoyable.
Thankfully we live in a world where “both” can also be an acceptable response.
I’m baffled why the prices are what they are. They’d be justified had they somehow revived a cryogenically preserved Neil, but asking fans for this kind of money for 2/3 of the lineup seems ludicrous.
Now spinning…

This box set of early Tangerine Dream records is punctuated by the amazing Green Desert (recorded 1973) which didn’t get a proper release til this box was produced (1985).
I agree with that analysis. Out of the Cradle my favorite, with Under the Skin following.
You ain’t kidding. Poked head out of hole and it only took 11 mins into opening night for me to see shadow and now I’m hiding back in my hole again.
