I feel your pain.
I do the pillow mound, sleep almost entirely on my left side, eat nothing after 7:00 pm, and take 800 mg of cimetidine. I still find myself sometimes in your predicament.

I feel your pain. For 40 years, I got up at 0400 for work. I retired 15 years ago and I still haven't broken the 0400 habit.
Alas, my cats have fallen in step with my schedule and I see no hope of changing things.

If the one following the orders has a reasonable expectation that the orders are legal, this is a valid defense (per Gary Solis).
When GW's AG produced the memo stating that the methods used on prisoners were legal, he shielded the torturers from trial.
Absent such expectation, you are correct.
