If Reggie Lewis had never hooped again, but got well enough to be a dad, a husband, a leader in his community or perhaps on a bigger stage, that would’ve been a good outcome. He deserved to live his life, even if it had to be without basketball. To lose him like we did was just cruel. #CelticsCity

If someone said the coaches got their 57 from making 19 threes, we'd have no reason to doubt it. On the media side, badge of honor for the one or two people who actually scored.

The Celtics coaches just played a pickup game vs. the Celtics media. The coaches won 57-4.

Exactly. Could’ve iced it with a beer!

It was a breaking ball too, perfect opportunity.

Bases loaded, two outs, down one run, Brewers batter contorts himself to avoid being hit by pitch. Must've never heard the phrase "Take one for the team."

Patriots might now become a flex schedule candidate. The 1 p.m. starts are getting monotonous.

Patriots' next two games are at the Titans and home vs. the Browns, both with 1-5 records. Bills are at Carolina and home vs. Chiefs. Great chance for NE to stay in first for a bit.

The New England Patriots are in first place in the AFC East. Order has been restored. (For a week, at least.)

Another questionable puzzle that needed rehab — made palatable by answering with nine former Celtics. (Including Chris Mihm, especially for you, @finerific.bsky.social.)

"The whole city, it just seems like everybody’s a die-hard fan.”
--Josh Minott, after his first game on the parquet as a member of the Celtics.

First he got everyone's attention with his hustle and peskiness; now he's saying all the right things too. Garden folk hero status is inevitable.
Josh Minott has never experienced this before
The Celtics forward was struck by TD Garden’s rowdy preseason atmosphere as he put together another strong all-around game.

On this date in 2013, the Red Sox were losing game 2 of the ALCS 5-1 in the bottom of the 8th, when David Ortiz came up with the bases loaded and hit a Grand Slam off Joaquin Benoit to tie the game. They won on a Walk-Off single by Jarrod Saltalamacchia in the 9th, to tie the Series 1 game apiece

Anfernee Simons introduced himself to Celtics fans with a game-high scoring output during Sunday night's preseason win over the Cavaliers.

"The fans are top-level fans."

The Sultan of Stat has some surprisingly interesting notes after the Celtics put a preseason beatdown on the less than stellar crew the Cavaliers decided to bring on the trip.

Dick Lipe with stuff you need to know about Derrick White, Luka Garza, Sam Hauser and more. ⬇️

Cavs crushed the offensive boards all night and got up 102 shots to Celtics’ 82. Yet 2nd-chance points were nearly even, 24-23. That’s gonna turn out much differently in real games when opponents play their guys who can shoot.
mikedynon.bsky.social
Correction: 54 was not the turnovers, it was the number of fouls called. Turnover total was 43. 🤦‍♂️ That’s preseason for you.

Cavs at Celtics tonight, combined for...
54 turnovers
105 3pt attempts
72 FT attempts
Final: Cs win 138-107

Mercifully, only one more preseason game remains.

Definite Garden fave if he gets enough minutes.

Between the 3pt contest, dunk contest and the main game itself, Josh Minott's gonna have a busy All-Star Weekend.

Minott is cooking. He slashes middle for a two-handed slam, then buries a 3 while getting fouled on his follow through.

He has 14 points and five rebounds. Plus, he brings a ton of energy. Constantly active at both ends of the floor.

Thank you, my friend, although TBH no. 1 was a tad more notable than no. 2. 😂 I'm pretty sure @honestlarry.bsky.social was also there that night.

Reminiscent of the game-winner he made late in his first season here.
mikedynon.bsky.social
The hoop must look like this when you can shoot like Anfernee Simons.
mikedynon.bsky.social
So true, and I don't expect him to be the new Ray Allen. But he was herky jerky in that first game, now he's not rushing.
mikedynon.bsky.social
Minott's 3pt form looked awful in the Memphis game, but since then he's 2-4 from the arc. Smooth as butter this time.

DWhite, rim protector. 2 blocks in 8 minutes.
