Is that where - when they go to hand you sweets - you chloroform them and stuff them in the boot?
Bon Jovi's "Slippery when wet" was released about 15 years ago.

"That guy" bought Twitter about 4 decades back.

I will not hear different.
According to news story, this is the 3rd year anniversary of the purchase of the Twitter by of current owner. Only 3 years?!? Feels like it's been ages.
Watched "The life of Chuck" last night. It was overly twee & as unsubtle as it's possible to be short of Mike Flanagan breaking in and tattooing "I contain multitudes" onto the inside of my eyelids.

But it left me feeling really good about life, and does anything else really matter? Loved it!
WTAF? Cancelling your account doesn't cancel your subscription? So, what, I can remove my account and you can just randomly charge me in the future if you decide you're going to "upgrade" my non-existent account again??
And just found this little nugget:

"Refund notice: Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription"
Oh, immediately got a bot response back with info on how to delete my account, so I guess they don't even bother to read their own support tickets ...

Descript: 0/10 for support
WTF descript? Is that where we're at now? Are your profits falling and this is the solution, or are you just really bad at knowing what your customers are already paying for and what payment method they chose? Because either way, it's a pretty terrible look!
Aussies now all wondering how they can sabotage this ... ;)
I understand what this was and yet seeing the words "tea" and "microwave" in the same sentence is having a very bad effect on me...
So it turns out Ari Aster made Eddington a horror after all ...
Basically, Uber was assuming I was a tourist because Swedish account+card, and tried to scam me. Mate booked for me in the end.

Driver said he got £9.50 of the fare, which likely wouldn't have changed if I'd paid £26!

So I've been in the UK the last couple of weeks, in my old home town. After meeting a mate for a pint, I went to book an Uber & got a price of > £26 - commented that it was a lot for the journey. Mate did the same booking and got £11.90. I double checked and got £26+ again.

If I'd had mobile internet the first time I read Eco's "Focault's pendulum" i'm not sure I'd ever have finished it!!
If you go to the list and click "subscribe", it will ask you if you want to mute or block everybody on the list.
I just block this list (which this account is on ...) :)

Clicking on the "US news" section of newspapers is utterly terrifying these days.
You're really tying yourself in knots trying to justify it, huh? I don't waste time on bad faith discussions, so bye.
They exist, but desalinatoon plants are expensive and not energy efficient. It is not currently a good viable option for getting potable water.
It does go into the air, but since >70% of the planet is ocean (salt water), plus rivers leading to the ocean, when it comes down again, most of it ends up in the ocean, which means it is no longer in our drinking water supplies.
"Adobe’s AI legalese initially required its customers to assume responsibility for copyright infringements caused by its software and services"

Just another admission that all AI value is based on stolen property.

My work station for the morning has a nice view ...
It's registered with namesilo, so you could try contacting them to let them know

Condescension certainly doesn't help, but rants I do understand - I've had a few myself :D

I think the condescension may be a reaction to the massive amount of hype from the large AI companies though - if there was more honesty here, there would likely be less of a hostile reaction to it.
