This claim by the ADL that everyone in the teachers' unions who has issues with working with the ADL at this moment in history is "pro-Hamas" is so intellectually dishonest that it beggars belief. Shades of "You're with us or you're with the terrorists" from the Bush administration.
Email from the ADL: "Dear Joel, It is shocking and disgraceful that the largest teachers union in the country, the National Education Association, is calling for a boycott of ADL and our decades of education materials and data. This biased and one-sided resolution would keep our vital lessons about antisemitism, about the Holocaust, and about hate, bigotry and bias out of K-12 classrooms. You might wonder what possible rationale there is for this latest example of open hostility toward Jewish educators, students and families, which comes on the heels of reports by Jewish K-12 teachers regarding other antisemitic activity happening within their unions. Why is the NEA excluding ADL’s voice from educational spaces at a time of skyrocketing antisemitism? The answer is clear: for a group of pro-Hamas activists inside NEA, their problem with ADL is our belief in the right of Israel to exist. Nothing less, nothing more. Click here to tell the NEA Executive Committee members that it is unacceptable to fail the students they are supposed to serve by depriving them of resources that can help them fight antisemitism, hate and discrimination. Don’t let the radical anti-Israel advocates within the NEA marginalize Jewish voices."

I am seeking to decolonize our civics and economics curriculum. — Decatur, Georgia I came across ZEP when looking up James Baldwin’s “A Talk to Teachers.” I saw all the amazing resources that I would love to use in my classroom, which is a predominantly Latino/a. — Omaha, Nebraska I have used the Standing with Standing Rock: A Role Play on the Dakota Access Pipeline lesson for years and it is always the most significant project of the year.
