There is an assumption that IndyCar is doing something out of the ordinary here, but cozying up to the politician that can force a street race through is the cost of doing a street race. This is a bipartisan American issue (NASCAR Chicago was a Lori Lightfoot initiative!) and a global issue.

Since I moved away from Bloomington in early November, IU has won the Rose Bowl and the beloved soup place that closed before I moved there has reopened.
