N’ami’s ‘dream’ continues with her mother, and they both stumble across an interesting surprise. This takes place about a 1.5 months after The Nhaama Ceremony and as one would expect, her mother has questions…

(N'ami wore an inquisitive gaze, trying to recall every note, every melody. Suddenly, just from her reflection, her mother began the lullaby. The harmony beckoned for N'ami's voice, to carelessly sing alongside it. The sound was a warm as the feeling of sunshine in The Steppe. The notes were sung with an absolute certainty, like the recalling of the moon’s glow.)

-I wish I could- I wish I could reassure you that this is indeed a dream. Perhaps it would make things much easier…-

"How d'you mean?"

-N'ami I- wait a moment. We aren't alone…-

(By instinct, N'ami's hands reached for what would be her sheathed blade, preparing to defend, to attack. Her mother calmly rested her hands to the mirror's surface once more. Her eyes began to measure N'ami's movements until they rested on her midriff. A slow tilt of her head, she began to wear a growing smile, gasping as tears began to well.)

-My moon. Are you- Have you…-

addendum since i met white ppl that did this: if you DO extensively research a culture, but remain entirely divorced from it in your daily life, do not act like an expert! you arent that culture you just looked shit up to play pixel barbies! you do NOT know more than actual people from that culture

If you write/draw/roleplay an OC that is a person of color, you need to do extensive research to ensure they are portrayed with grace.

I’ve seen waaaaaay too many instances of bastardizing cultures for personal gain.

Shouldn’t be niche, but, unfortunately that’s asking for too much.
