PG-13 for now for the possible first 30s in the state since May 20. If somebody happens to hit 32 degrees (we're watching you, Eva!), we'll slap an R on there for "Winter discretion is advised." ticker.mesonet.org #okwx #okmesonet

Oklahoma lake levels have dropped dramatically from where they were just a few months ago at 10-20 feet above normal. Looking more droughty lately. #okwx #okmesonet

So, six days of summer, one day of fall...rinse, repeat. That's what we're doing now?? Okay, summery weather is back today with highs 10+ degrees above normal. Another front this weekend, then? ticker.mesonet.org #okwx #okmesonet

The first 12 days of October were the 9th-warmest on record in OKC, dating back to 1890 (oddly enough, just ahead of 2024 through that same time frame). Tulsa has had its 5th-warmest, by comparison. Both have a long way to go to reach those top marks. #okwx #okmesonet

These record high minimum temps are closer to what our HIGHS should look like this time of year! A cool front moving through the state should give us some brief relief, including some rain for some. Not nearly enough though. ticker.mesonet.org #okwx #okmesonet

Drought is once again on the rise in Oklahoma. We're up to 12% of the state in Moderate Drought (tan color), but another 40% of the state will slip into drought without significant rain soon (yellow, and that area is growing as well)! ticker.mesonet.org #okwx #okmesonet

What, we're getting fall today, for crying out loud! But the overall weather pattern, minus these brief cool downs, is summer through the next 7-14 days. Mild summer mostly, but summer nevertheless. ticker.mesonet.org #okwx #okmesonet

No, we don't know what it means either. But we do know it's better than "9 2!" #okwx #okmesonet

It's sooooo close, yet so far away. #okwx #okmesonet

Need some blue on that brush, Evil Bob Ross! A brief cooldown the next couple of days, then back to above normal through next week. Let's face it, our fall was back at the last week of August/first week of September! ticker.mesonet.org #okwx #okmesonet

Our current dry spell continues to expand, and drought's following along behind. Rain chances go up this weekend into early next week, but not for those areas with the worst colors on the map. We need a slow-moving system to sit over the state and pour for awhile! ticker.mesonet.org #okwx #okmesonet

You have to *CLICK FOR EMBIGGENATION*, but the outlooks are for above normal temps and below normal precip for all of OK, and drought development "LIKELY" for the SE two-thirds of the state through October. And then an ice storm for Halloween, because Oklahoma. ticker.mesonet.org #okwx #okmesonet

For only the fourth time (2003, 2006, 2008, and 2025) in the history of the Mesonet, and the first time since 2008, there were no triple-digit temperatures recorded by its 120 sites during September. This will ostensibly be the final 100s map for 2025. #okwx #okmesonet

State Fair weather really failed this year! Deficits continue to grow as the rain has stayed away. No rain to speak of for the next week, so these numbers will continue to go up. Errrrrr, down. ticker.mesonet.org #okwx #okmesonet

Throw out those lattes...bring on the Slurpees! Fall's nowhere in sight for awhile. ticker.mesonet.org #okwx #okmesonet

We could see rapid thunderstorm development later this afternoon in the abundant heat and moisture across eastern OK. Tornadoes, included one or two strong twisters, will be possible along with large hail and severe winds. Have a plan! Be weather aware! #okwx #okmesonet
mesonet.org
Okies, you know the drill! Be weather aware late this afternoon, especially across eastern OK where all severe hazards are possible. ticker.mesonet.org #okwx #okmesonet
mesonet.org
Severe threat is on the rise late tonight through early morning tomorrow. All severe hazards possible, tornado threat is low. Stay weather aware, and keep your head on a swivel! #okwx #okmesonet

Oh well...sleep, much like KFC, is overrated. Fight me! Be sure and have multiple ways to get warnings overnight, especially one that will WAKE YOU UP in the event severe weather approaches your area. *CLICK FOR EMBIGGENATION* ticker.mesonet.org #okwx #okmesonet

They do. And they do. And so do those folks. And the ones over there. And next to them. And they do. And they do. And they...well, you get the idea. #okwx #okmesonet

We added another 10% of the state in Abnormally Dry (D0-yellow color) to the Drought Monitor map. Moderate Drought (D1-tan color) expanded across southwest Oklahoma. Need the rain! ticker.mesonet.org #okwx #okmesonet

Oof, we'd like to see that spread to the west as well, but just like ice cream...we'll take what we can get. Rain chances extend through the middle of next week. ticker.mesonet.org #okwx #okmesonet

Please read the caption in a glorious over-the-top Russian accent. Now pay that state. Pay that state its summer. ticker.mesonet.org #okwx #okmesonet

Astronomical fall starts next week, and it could be on the wet side. I'd tell you about astrological fall, but I have to wait until Mercury is in retrograde. Better rain chances THIS week Wednesday through Thursday, and into the weekend. ticker.mesonet.org #okwx #okmesonet

I wish it was a bad moon, but even CCR can't make it rain in SW OK, it appears. That whole region is in danger of drought development and intensification if they don't get some rain soon. ticker.mesonet.org #okwx #okmesonet
