Currently talking about: (my) mental health, technology, and maybe cute animals. We'll see.
So we're clearly racing to the bottom, right? No one gives a shit about doing the right, just, good, kind thing anymore? @netflix.com

Fuck off, Capitalism.

@jeremiahdjohns.bsky.social wrote one of the few thoughtful pieces on this Sydney Sweeney bullshit. (Discovered via an equally rationally @cwarzel.bsky.social piece in @theatlantic.com.)

I'll miss you, Wordle.

Cleveland folks! I've got 2 tickets to see @youarestars.bsky.social tomorrow at @beachlandcle.bsky.social. They're touring for the 25th anniversary of Set Yourself on Fire (the most perfect album).

If you want 'em, they're yours! (When I saw them tour on this record in 2019, I died of happiness.)

If civilization is ever going to be anything but a grandiose pratfall, anything more than a can of deodorizer in the shithouse of existence, then statesmen are going to have to concern themselves with magic and poetry.

RIP, Mr. Robbins. Say hi to my pops.

This!!! Why are more people not seeing it? I cannot take one more NY Times headline like "A Presidency That's Off the Rails. It Took Only Two Weeks."

Where can we scream this that's not just the void?
{while being mugged at gunpoint} This guy is just bluffing

{mugger seizes my wallet} This is just a distraction

{mugger shoots me in the gut and runs away} He'll screw up soon and then we can go back to normal

Andreessen Horowitz hiring Daniel Perry exemplifies what debates over preferential treatment are really all about. White men are actually rewarded professionally and personally by other white men for their willingness to commit acts of violence against people who threaten white male dominance.

Of course he did.
By a vote 54-46, the #Senate confirmed the nomination of Pamela Bondi to be Attorney General.

Democrat Senator Fetterman voted in favor.

Anyway, where can I read more on this?

Is this ish legal? Are there non-obfuscated deals going on between the head of our government and the most powerful, wealthy people in the world?

HOW DO WE BURN IT TO THE GROUND?

(Related: is it better to keep Meta accounts but let them go dormant or to close them?)
Is anyone analyzing or writing about the obvious entanglement between our government and what seems like every visible, for-profit company in America?

I'm having a really difficult time balancing self-preservation and awareness of the world falling apart.

Help?

My cute husband recognized a Depressed Day and suggested I read in the hammock. (Did it. Perfection. More later.)

As I walked out of our office (library?) with a book, he held up this bottle, index finger on the trigger and said "come on, love!"

Googl advertising its suite of office products on The Daily podcast with the phrase "from any location across any device" is ironic AF.

(Yes, I work there and no, I don't personally care much about their RTO edict other than to recognize the hypocrisy of it.)

Love this! I'm guessing you're speaking to hardware (Pixel Fold and Apple Vision Pro)?

I think it's secondarily worth calling out how expensive it is to train & run the LLMs that Big Tech seems hellbent on productionizing.

When the Old Ways are all-but-deprecated, that cost will 💯 be passed to us.
I have a hard time getting excited about any technology that is prohibitively expensive.

There is a tech bubble, and we are all feeding into each other's bias by telling the lie that everyone wants to spend thousands.

Instead, we should meet people where they are really at.

My street has very, very few driveways (I have one but it's shared). We're about to go from 4 cars, representing 4 houses, (including mine) on the street to 8 cars MINIMUM (rentals with multiple bedrooms in the upper units will skew that higher).

Ok so I figured it out: imma use this account to let out some of my crazy for a while because I'm too ashamed to text my therapist.

And the latter is true because she sent me a bill that is actually not a bill and I can't seem to get on the same page as her and

Everything is hard.
