Turns out there’s an issue with a config file for installations in virtual machines, editing it managed to fix it. Gonna try out more OSes, plain Ubuntu was working fairly well, gonna try LMDE 6 again

Testing Linux OSes on virtual machines has been strangely frustrating, certain things don't seem to work well, but I think that might be a VM thing, I wanna see how it works if I have the OS actually installed.

I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Eman. Before this she stayed home with her children Nabil, 7, Muhammad, 4 and Taim, 2 and her husband was a barber. Her husband was shot in the foot trying to get aid and Nabil is suffering from severe skin infections from contaminated water.

As for which OS, so far I'm leaning on a Mint flavor (hehe), possibly Debian Edition for stability, though 22.2 worked fine. Also possibly considering Ubuntu Studio. I am def *not* doing rolling release distros, so no Arch.

Managed to get an SSD for fairly cheap. I'm gonna install a Linux OS on it and try disconnecting my Windows SSD to see how well I do running stuff in it to see if I really can go without Windows because this OS is pissing me off in new ways each day

ICE shot an American citizen and food bank worker who tried to block them arresting an immigrant by pulling his car in front of them.
After being released from hospital: "He is now facing charges for assault on a federal officer."

Carlos Jimenez, a 24-year-old U.S. citizen, was on his way to work at a food bank when he was shot by ICE officers in what a DHS spokesperson calls “defensive shots.”

On Thursday morning at approximately 6:30 a.m., ICE officers were at Vineyard Avenue in Ontario when Jimenez, who was not in the target vehicle, attempted to pull in front of the officers.

According to Javier Hernandez, executive director of the Inland Coalition for Immigrant Justice, Jimenez was trying to assist and provide aid to the person who was being stopped by ICE officers.

After Jimenez was shot in the shoulder, the LA Times and LA Taco reported that he drove to his brother’s house so he could take him to the hospital.

Unless you’ve been on SNAP or had to be a cashier in a grocery store while someone discovers the insane restrictions placed on SNAP food choices, I simply think you should shut the hell up about food access.
