Uh. I woke up to about 200 more followers than I had when I went to bed. So. Hello.

I should add, I talk a lot about romance novels. And my favorite movies are The Sound of Music and While You Were Sleeping.

I might talk a lot about capybaras, specifically the one who was in Top Gun Maverick.

Why did I just watch that guy drag that chair from one room to another and rewind it like 8 times to rewatch it? Please some explain this to me?

I finally had time to watch the first episode of Heated Rivalry and holy moly buttercups! Idk even what that means. Yes, I’m late to this party. But better late than never? Also, just how did Harlequin manage to fumble this bag so badly? Whoever is running the show over there needs to…maybe resign?

When you’ve been reading a book for 5 days and you’re still only at 70% and you’re already mentally composing the review in your head.

I became a Sophie Kinsella fan while in undergrad when a friend lent me her copy of Confessions of a Shopaholic. I read a lot of her books including the ones she wrote as Madeleine Wickham. Her books were fun.

This is really sad news. May her family find peace and comfort in this horrible time.
Madeleine Wickham, who wrote the “Confessions of a Shopaholic” novel series under the pen name Sophie Kinsella, becoming an international sensation, died at 55.

The plan was to breeze through this series via audio but the narrator for the 1st book does the next 2 as well and there’s just no way I can sit through 2 more books with his voice in my ears. I’ll hold off until January when I have time to read them with my eyes.

Bold Moves and August Lane will show up on my best of 2025 list as well (if I actually make one). Both are excellent and dramatic and angsty.
My #RomanceColumn best romances list for the NYT is live today! It’s impossible to pick just a few books from so many, but as the song says, impossible things are happening every day, so let’s get to it! (Gift link)

I am currently reading a hockey romance with my ears and reading a football romance with my eyes and both of these books have the word “game” in the title so this will not get confusing at all, not even a little bit.

Idk why but I keep thinking David Corenswet is British until I hear him speak. He has a great voice and should this acting thing not work out (lol, I think he’ll be fine), he could get steady work as an audio book narrator.

This thought is spurred by me still working my way through the audio

I started listening to Game Changer by Rachel Reid and the narration is just 😬😬😬😬. For the whole 1st chapter, I was confused and thought Kip had an Aussie accent but turns out he’s a Brooklyn native? Scott’s accent is ok but I don’t have time to read it with my eyes right now or else I’d do that.

Me taking 6 days to finish a book is never a good sign. Also, my refusal to give up on a book and DNF is probably my most toxic reading trait ever.

I have finished all 8 of the Palace of Rogues book and can definitively say I loved this series more than Pennyroyal Green and I think you can really see the evolution of JAL's writing style and how much she leveled up in this series. The last 5 books in the Palace series were phenomenal.

series is my most favorite but this one might be near the top, it is SO GOOD. And when he figures out what she needs to be happy is actually also what HE needs to be happy and then what he does to make that happen, the risk he takes. I LOVED THIS BOOK.

25/10 ZERO NOTES.

I can't say that the Palace of Rogues series has been great from beginning to end but what I can say is that the last 5 books of the series were 5 star bangers, every single one of them.

It's probably pretty well known amongst my romance reader friends that I adore a
