This is a new to me author and I picked up her book because I happened to see Naima Simone raving about it on FB and the title caught my attention. I love a messy, petty heroine and this book more than lived up to its title.

Admittedly, I hadn’t made Rice Krispies treats in a long time. And so, yesterday, I learned after almost 16 years of marriage that my spouse cannot resist warm, gooey Rice Krispies treats. He was like a little kid and it was pretty cute.

I adored this book. Soft and sweet and tender with Karl and his penchant for saying the F word and making physiologically impossible threats and his long standing love for Molly, this was adorable and fairly low angst. There's a part in this book relating to Karl's obit that made me laugh cry.

My mom’s bday (and my parents anniversary) is tomorrow. It’s been almost 3 years since she passed away. I am just deep in my sad feelings right now and keeping busy all day kept it at bay for a bit but now it’s just hitting me.
