I will not be voting for any candidate that doesn’t make dismantling ICE a top priority. This isn’t an immigration agency, it’s an out-of-control paramilitary force and it must be stopped.

NEW: Pentagon lawyers asked State Dept. if US could send survivors of Trump's boat strikes to a notorious prison in El Salvador. Then Pentagon pushed to have survivors sent anywhere but the US — to prevent any US court cases. Gift link to our @nytimes.com story: www.nytimes.com/2025/12/09/u...

Any knitters around know what kind of magic I can use to slap the same stitch pattern on 3 or 4 different basic accessories and get people to pay me for each one? 🤔

MTG shocked to learn Donald Trump is the same callous, unfeeling asshole he’s always been.
Marjorie Taylor Greene: "I sent those deaths threats directly to him in a text message & informed him of what his name calling & words were doing - it was a direct assassination threat on my son. And he was extremely - I won't repeat what he said - but it was extremely unkind. No sympathy. No care"

Plenty of people will shout unsolicited, useless and wrong baby advice at you for free, not sure why anyone would need ChatGPT.
Jimmy Fallon: "And do you use ChatGPT when raising your baby?"

Sam Altman: "I cannot imagine figuring out how to raise a newborn without ChatGPT."

Before I got here, farmers made money selling food. Now my tariffs are making it hard for farmers to sell food so I’m just going to … give them money.
Trump: "I'm delighted to announce this afternoon that the US will be taking a small portion of the hundreds of billions of dollars we receive in tariffs ... and we're going to be giving and providing it to the farmers in economic assistance. We love our farmers. The farmers like me ... $12 billion"

If the Sep. 2 boat really had "narco-terrorists" on board, questioning the survivors would have been a way to learn about how the organization worked, where more drugs were stashed, etc. But this isn't a counter-terrorism campaign. It's a shooting gallery with helpless targets.

JFC. Every new detail makes even clearer how grotesque and inhumane this whole tragedy is.
NEW info on shipwreck attack. It gets worse.

The 2 survivors climbed atop wreckage and waved to overhead.

"Some of the people viewing the video thought ... could have been an attempt to surrender"

Others "said the most logical explanation was ... signaling for a rescue."

TOM COTTON: The premise of your question is not well-founded

BERMAN: The answer is no. It would not be legal to kill them.

At least one other boat, the one with the Colombian fisherman, was adrift and displaying a distress signal with its engine out of the water. To attack a disabled vessel in distress and signaling for assistance is basically in the same category as killing shipwrecked survivors clinging to wreckage.

The fact that a second strike like that in an armed conflict is definitely a war crime should not completely negate the fact that *there is no war* and ALL the strikes are cold-blooded murder. The whole chain of command are murderers.

The boat was split in half. 9 men were dead. 2 more clung to a floating piece of wreckage and tried desperately to flip it over for 41 minutes straight. There was no possible way they were going anywhere.

Then they were killed in cold blood by the U.S. military.

It was floating *because* it held cocaine? They could have theoretically floated with their cocaine raft to vague “land” and then, injured and half-starved, immediately started selling the coke to anyone who would buy it??

I cannot imagine the level of moral bankruptcy to describe the actions of people whose boat has just been hit by a missile from nowhere (this was the FIRST such strike) and who were most likely making a desperate attempt not to drown in the ocean as trying to "stay in the fight."
Q: What did you see in the second strike?

Cotton: "I saw two survivors trying to flip a boat -- loaded with drugs, bound for the United States -- back over, so they could stay in the fight."

It absolutely was and they are absolutely right to do this, but I fear they are about to be extremely disappointed with the outcome. The OAS cannot afford to lose (even more) US funding and the IACHR hasn’t managed to do a thing about Bukele, leader of a much weaker member state.

These men, who we have absolutely no proof were running drugs, were going to die at sea; they called for help like any rational human would do, so they killed them—that’s the defense.
This is the Witch Trials theory of war: If they try not to drown at sea, they're terrorists.

There is no ranking of cultures that assigns some more value than others. I bet there’s a word for thinking there is …
Fox News' Will Cain: "I’m sure there are very honorable law-abiding upstanding citizens and contributors from the Somali community here in the United States, BUT..."

He goes on to say "we aren’t going to pretend here that all cultures are of equal value or the same."

Striking a boat full of unarmed civilians is murder. The first strike was murder. The followup strike was also murder.

We're not at war. It's not a "war crime". Everyone involved, including the POTUS, SecDef, the Admiral who relayed it and the person who pressed the button needs to be on trial.
