The right to strike in Qld is a hard fought one. In 1891 you would be convicted.

Qld unions never take strike action lightly. The Qld Parliament is a house of solutions not a house of bickering. Solve issues. We know the members can do better in 2026. #qldpol

They also generate thousands of jobs, reduce our exposure to volatile gas prices, and allow us to stick two fingers up to fossil-fueled dictators.

Thank you Labour!

For the first time in 30 years, rail fares are to be frozen and will NOT be increased in January.

It will save some people hundreds of pounds a year compared to if prices had risen as usual.

I know some people want fares to go down, but Ice said before having them...

As winter flooding looms, it's worth noting that a young street tree in an asphalt surface can prevent 60% of the rain that falls on it from reaching the ground, even when not in leaf.

Increasing the low levels of urban tree cover should be a strategic national priority.

Instead of the 15th most expensive electricity prices, we rank 24th by this measure, and well below the OECD average.

We should all recognise that public service broadcasting is an asset to the long term health of democracy. The UK and Australia have immeasurably benefited from having the BBC and ABC. Of course we should complain where they make mistakes, but we should all defend their continued existence #auspol
The controversy engulfing the #BBC underscores the powerful forces that seek to undermine public broadcasting & that have also weakened the ABC. Pandering to those forces never works.
