I felt insane when I was explaining to someone that the clown in the Ace Attorney 2 US localization made Fresh Prince of Bel-air jokes because it was a 4chan meme at the time but you have to believe me. I'm not crazy

was thinking about dated Internet References in the Ace Attorney Games. I only played thru 1-4, so if there were more beyond, I am unaware.

Of course there's Sal Manela's 1337 speak in 1, 2 had "Excuuuuuse Me Princess", 3 had S.P.A.R.D.A., and 4 had Olga Orly. Are there such references in 5 & 6?

I have not seen a CIB earthbound in the wild in some time, so it floored me to see the "market price" having cleared 2K

I didn't play any other RPGs that early on so I wasn't familiar with their tendency to abbreviate the names of attacks and items (necessary back then with their limited text box space)

And I didn't realize the 'E' in 'Static E' stood for Electricity until the remake came out. 🙃

In Super Mario RPG, the Guerrilla enemy is a "knock-off" of Donkey Kong. This is referenced in a unique way by its Japanese name, which replaces two of its characters with similar ones as though on a bootleg product logo. In English, this could be conveyed as e.g. "Donkev Konq".
