Yeh, I bought a gen 5 and gen 7 iPods last year for my wife and son, modded them out with bigger batteries and ssd hdd and they love them. My wife can listen to music on the bus without being tempted to doom scroll, and my son can fall asleep to music on a device with no internet.

Apple is missing a trick by not releasing a new iPod with headphone jacks, physical controls and support for hi def audio. Premium DAPs are in vogue again but they are mainly all touchscreen android devices with mega powerful dacs and crap battery life.

In the finest of van traditions, I have loaded the Spacia up with all the spare parts for another car. Excellent “temporary” storage solution!
Rear Spacia storage loaded up with Clio wheels, sump, steering wheel, engine cover, various interior trim, boot latch regulators, window regulator, brake switch, throttle pedal and throttle body. Not pictured: original cup suspension and 5th spare wheel with old rubber.

Recently update from iOS 18 to 26. Lock screen time display (and a lot of the rest of the new UX) is now illegible. Liquid Glass- more like liquid ass amirite.

Navigation and entertainment are not part of driving the car. If I can’t demist, turn ac on, adjust drive modes etc with one button that is distracting and annoying.
