James Watson the perverted racist is dead?! Well that means it's time to celebrate the true hero of DNA discovery: Rosalind Franklin

What Rosalind Franklin truly contributed to the discovery of DNA’s structure
Franklin was no victim in how the DNA double helix was solved. An overlooked letter and an unpublished news article, both written in 1953, reveal that she was an equal player.

New Australia Institute analysis shows the ACTU Secretary’s call for a 25% tax on revenue from gas exports to replace the PRRT would raise around $12.5 billion annually.

Australia Institute analysis shows the staggering difference between US and Aus drug prices.

Atorvastatin – a cholesterol pill among the top ten most prescribed drugs in Australia – is 125 times more expensive in the US!

Aus - $21.07
US - $2,628.39

Tas reform isn't hard: slug multinationals and subsidise things we want more of – @ebonybennett.bsky.social

"In Norway, they tax the gas industry and subsidise young people to attend university for free. In Australia, we subsidise the gas industry and charge our kids a fortune to get a degree."

It’s all about high net-worth individuals and their greed.
From the AFR's analysis, the Government's superannuation tax changes would result in someone who increased their super by $1,180,000, to a total sum of $3,180,000 would be paying an extra...$1,528 in tax.

The superannuation tax changes are a good idea and would make our tax system fairer. #auspol
Hilariously, the AFR is showing just how absurd is the scare campaign against the super tax changes.

They give an eg where someone's super goes from $2m to $3.18m in a year!

Yep a $1.18m increase.

How much extra tax?

$1,528!

OMG!! THAT'S OUTRAG... err... oh actually that's bugger all

Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

This video isn’t entertainment.

What’s been happening the last 2 or 3 decades isn’t new. Tragically it aligns with the rise of the Internet/social media. It explains quite clearly the decline we’re seeing in society in general, & the rise of populist-fascist leaders.

Australia imposes zero tariffs on US products. We have a current trade deficit with the USA (we buy more of their stuff).

Why break our own legitimate rules which keep us safe? Doesn’t make sense.

Aust Govt: Don’t bend the knee.
I really don't agree with biosecurity laws being 'reviewed' to allow US beef into Australia

If US beef can't pass our strict biosecurity laws that keep our farming communities safe, healthy & free of disease then that's just too fucking bad, not our problem

Major party governments of the last 50 years have failed the Australian people - big time.

Since the resources boom of the 1970s, Australia could have emulated countries like Norway and given us all a legacy for generations.

It’s not too late.
