They are helping students find their voices, build confidence, and see possibility in themselves and the world around them. From kindergarten reading corners to high school labs, they are bringing learning to life every day.

Free speech is more than a right. It’s a Delaware value. 💬

My administration is committed to protecting every voice and ensuring Delaware remains a place where ideas can be shared freely and respectfully.

Delaware’s rural communities matter, and we’re acting like it.

We’re investing in rural healthcare and supporting providers like La Red Health Center in Georgetown to ensure every Delawarean can get quality, affordable care close to home.

In Delaware, we don’t just talk about progress. We make it happen. That’s what it means when a small state does big things.

As challenges grow, from climate change to market pressure, Delaware is stepping up. We are investing more than $14 million to permanently protect over 2,800 acres of farmland in all three counties.

But this day is about more than just land. It is about people — like the folks at Oliphant Farm — who have cared for their 109-acre farm in Laurel for generations. Thank you for welcoming us and showing what true stewardship looks like.

On National Farmers Day, I’m filled with gratitude for Delaware’s farm families: the growers, haulers, processors, and caretakers who work from sunrise to sundown to keep our communities fed and our economy strong.

We're making real progress in how we support rehabilitation and reentry.

With the closure of the Plummer Community Corrections Center, we're reducing waste and reinvesting in what works: modern facilities, stronger programs, and better outcomes for individuals and communities.

Our teams are coordinating statewide, with shelters identified, rescue crews on standby, and equipment prepositioned. Please stay alert, secure outdoor items, and sign up for alerts at de.gov/dens. We’re ready, and we’ll get through this the Delaware way.

We’re closely monitoring the coastal storm expected Sunday into Monday. While the forecast has improved for Lewes, areas like Bowers may still see near-record high tides.

From classrooms to wellness centers, September was about giving every Delaware student the foundation to learn, grow, and build a brighter future.

🏫 We also marked 40 years of school-based wellness centers at Middletown High, a milestone that reminds us how vital mental health and access to care are to student success.

📚 We celebrated National Literacy Month, building on our $11 million investment to help every child read with confidence. Because when students can read, they can learn anything.

In Delaware, we believe every child deserves the chance to succeed, and that starts with strong schools, healthy minds, and confident readers. Here are a few highlights of what we did in September to strengthen education across our state:

For the first time, I brought doctors, nurses, and community leaders together around one table to focus specifically on rural healthcare, talking about how we can make care more affordable and accessible for families in Sussex County.

Bayhealth plays an important role in southern Delaware, expanding access to care and training the next generation of healthcare workers.

Strong partners like this help us make sure every Delawarean can get quality care close to home, no matter their ZIP code.
