China can't be trusted any more than the US.
He's been saying for months that the Era of closer integration is over. Our economy is too closely tied to the US to end that quickly.
Are you saying he was intending to scuttle the deal because there was no auto deal, or just that he's an idiot?
So you want to give up 80 % of our trade and put us into a depression? It feels good to say things like that but you would not like the reality.
I'm not holding my breath. He's really been going out of his way to hurt our economy.
Canada and the US were reportedly close to a deal. Maybe it's market manipulation but maybe he's trying to get more concessions from us. He's been dangling the possibility of a deal in front of us for months, just like Lucy and the football.
I find her sleazy AF. She makes my hackles rise before she even opens her mouth. Thank you to David for asking the question directly.
Today I said goodbye to Rascal, one of the kindest cats I've had. Here he is with his half sibling Precious. He had a good life but I will miss him.
Women dressing in this way is a protest. It obviously doesn't replace voting, but might help draw people's attention to the situation. I don't understand why this could be considered wrong.
Beth Burke is certainly only representing the American side of the CanAm Bus Council. Basically, according to her, Canada needs to give up all bargaining points ahead of negotiations and just hope the Americans are in a good mood. Forget about all the unfair sector tariffs & give up the boycotts.

Sounds like an inspiration for Corner Gas.
Couldn't read the article, but I'm really curious why a low efficiency simple gas turbine would even be considered when a gas engine is more efficient. Also, recovering waste heat for building heating / cooling can increase the overall efficiency of the system.
I don't know why they are so intent upon destroying supply management just to have access to a dairy market that's already boycotting American products. If we concede that to get a new deal, it will be for nothing on both sides.
Technically St. John's, Nfld, but I suppose you have to be from Atlantic Canada to make the distinction.
Great idea... but how do you implement it when power is a provincial responsibility? You have a variety of provincial grids, some privately owned/ controlled that have technical requirements that must be met to create any interconnections. BC/AB linkages are underused because Alberta choses not to.
I've had bad reactions to second hand weed smoke where I felt like I couldn't breathe. Since cannabis became leagal, I've been really curious to try gummies, but I'm afraid I'll have a bad reaction to those as well.
This has been an educational discussion, but I'd much rather read a debate about how best to resist the efforts to dismantle democracy. People around the world are making contingency plans. As a Canadian, I find myself wondering how an American invasion of Canada would go down.
If he had any communications with Canadian reps about this, it was in the context of NORAD modernization or trade-offs for a better trade deal. However, it's been stated that "a larger deal" is not on the table. I hope this makes them reduce the F35 buy and go Gripen.
He also assumes that the US will be a reliable partner in the future and that we should allow ourselves to be a small part of its system, completely dependent on them as a superpower. Chosing the Gripen would make us irrelevant in our own defense according to him, as if we are not our own nation.
This article is so self centered towards US that I knew immediately that it was written by an American. The idea that we would want a fighter jet that is not completely interoperable with (ie controlled by) the Americans is completely untenable to him.

Forget Going to Fly for Canada: F-35 Has a Message for the JAS 39 Gripen
The JAS 39 Gripen may look cheaper, but delays, NORAD gaps, lost industry work and 6th-gen misalignment make sticking with the F-35 Canada’s safest, smartest choice.

It comes across as a racist dog whistle, but maybe he meant it in a larger context like just an outsider of any type. That it could be someone he might share values with makes it harder to blame a group of people rather than facing up to the fact that someone like him did this terrible thing.

Here are some things that Charlie Kirk said in his life.

The man is dead, and so it only seems fair to share his legacy by cataloguing the values he spread while alive.
Thanks for posting this. Much needed in depressing times.
