Shaving down the network hour from 44 to ~40 minutes may not seem like much, but it is. The slow creepy pans, the pauses, the looks that say more than a line ever could. These are the first things to go, but they’re what allow the show — and the audience — to breathe.

Sinuses are such bullshit. Here, have a bunch of empty spaces in your skull. They’ll be super susceptible to infection and whenever the air pressure changes they’ll make your head feel like it’s exploding. First draft nonsense.

During an episode of "Monitoring the Situation," the podcast for the venture capitalist firm that Andreessen cofounded, A16z, he said advancements in AI technology — like OpenAI's Sora 2 — have made it possible for a new type of filmmaker to emerge.

"The filmmaker with no visual skill, or access to a set, or to a camera, or to actors, but with an idea," Andreessen said on Friday. "It's going to start with shorts and animated things and so forth, but it's going to work its way up to full movies."

The trailblazing transgender rights activist Miss Major has passed away at the age of 78.

Miss Major was a lifelong organizer and participant in the ballroom scene. She took part in the 1969 Stonewall Riots and was injured by the police — but she kept fighting.
