By 26 weeks, all she could do was rest her belly on the king size bed and watch it swelling ever larger, day by day. It was tearing her skin apart and stretching her uterus beyond all imagination. There were other ways to enhance fertility, though. Certain herbs that she could take, and others for the stallions that would help their fertility. Their effects were unpredictable though, as she soon discovered. She got pregnant without much difficulty, but as the months passed, her belly swelled so rapidly, she knew that she had unleashed something she might not be able to handle. By two months, she was already the size of a normal pregnancy. By three, she was larger than twins. After four months, her belly was larger than any mare's she had ever seen, and still it grew. By six months, it had nearly reached the ground, and its growth was only accelerating. As a centaur, she would not give birth for another five months, but each month her belly's size doubled. The universe still had a sense of humor, because she went almost a month past her due date before going into labor. By that point she was a belly with legs. After another two days of contractions and births, exhausted, she finally delivered the last of her seventeen girls and fifteen boys, all large healthy foals. As two of the foals suckled at her massive breasts, she fantasized about her next, even larger pregnancy.

Her horns were one unexpected characteristic, which her commissioner was willing to overlook. The other deviation, however, was harder to ignore. She wanted a domestic, not a porn star or dairy goat. Maersa hitched her way around North America. Sometimes she encountered humans who were attracted to exotics, which always made for good times. Humans could not get her pregnant, and she was completely immune to human STDs, so she enjoyed herself as often as she could. Sooner or later, she found herself on the road again. Through it all, her breasts kept growing. But her legs and back were so strong, she hardly noticed the weight. While their growth slowed, it never quite stopped. She ended up in Northern California, where she found work as a trail guide. The campground was owned by humans, but they were an investment group managing a group of shell corporations that used the camp to buffer excess profits. The camp made money, but on paper it was a disaster, which suited the absentee owners' plans. They had no interest in actually running the camp. Management and most of the staff were all Shaped of various species. A few, like Maersa, were Scrubs, leaving them without even paper owners or assigned function. The senior counselor was a six hundred pound Kodiak named Petrovich who had been culled from the Kazakh infantry after budget cuts. He took his role as leader and protector very seriously. Anybody who caused trouble for any member of his adopted family would have to "Face The Bear." He made sure she knew that Maersa would have a place to live, no matter what. Here at last, she found a place where she could feel at home.
