I had an interaction with a border patrol agent a few years ago. He asked us to say we were American. My child was sleeping. The guy knew I was waking her up but without hesitation he whipped the door open. She had been leaning against the door as she slept so when he whipped it open…

… she almost fell out of the car. She was so scared and shocked to be so aggressively woken up like that. These agencies (ICE and BP) are filled with miserable bullies who peaked in high school. If that’s how they treated us, I can’t imagine the horrific way they treat anyone who isn’t white.

It should at they very least include the idea of their at least being a Jewish identity.

That’s not hard. It’s what Ashkenazi Jews though if themselves for over a thousand years ago.

They may of thought other Jewish identities are strange or weird. But they would not say, they aren’t

It’s a way of saying I am not Jewish but listen to me I am Jewish but I am not. It’s also I am not with those people. It’s also sn attack on the Jewish identity for people who think the Jewish identity do exist or should not exist

One i have only encountered a few times and relatively recent. I am Ashkenazi descent, not Jewish but Ashkenazi.

They can say what they want but I don’t recognize an Ashkenazi descent outside of a Jewish identity. Your ancestors identify as Jewish and Jewish unity is an important thing.

One can say they have Jewish ancestry which tells me they don’t identify as Jewish

It’s really saying I have the right to talk as a Jewish person, but I don’t identify with those nasty Jewish people.

On this day in 1907, a Czech Jewish woman was born. On the 30 Nov 1941 she was deported to Theresienstadt and then on the 9 May 1942 to Sobibór where she perished. Her name was Stella Bergova
