looking back, AOL had it right. 30 hours of internet per month was the right amount.

@bsky.app - I’m sure this has been asked … but -please- add a feature to let us import starter pack into lists.

DOGE is looking less like a cost-cutting effort and more about digging a hole by breaking our government and xAI will be the ladder to get us out. He is creating the problem and wants to sell us the solution.

Mark my words: Elon is positioning to have his AI technology running our government.

Their artifact system and projects are more useful for real work. The model itself is good, but its utility is due to the tooling.

Why Anthropic’s Claude Is a Hit with Tech Insiders
A.I. insiders are falling for Claude, a chatbot from Anthropic. Is it a passing fad, or a preview of artificial relationships to come?

Wonder if news editors are going to realize people knew about an actual coup an hour-plus earlier on bluesky than twitter. Hearing a lot of that rumbling from old friends still in the legacy content mines today.

I completely agree with Jeremy. BlueSky resembles the old Usenet and IRC days when everything was relayed publicly.

There are no corporate moats of an algorithm manipulating users to benefit ad monetization with toxic rage-fueled content.
FYI, here's the entire code to create a dataset of every single bsky message in real time:

```
from atproto import *
def f(m): print(m.header, parse_subscribe_repos_message())
FirehoseSubscribeReposClient().start(f)
```

The qwen team is doing a fantastic job! I’m excited to see competitive open-weight models.

I’m curious why we haven’t seen a 72b coding model yet and whether their reasoning model will exceed the 32b version. Either way, I’m thrilled to have good 32b models that can run on my laptop.
Qwen's first o1 inspired model.

Social media is in desperate need of innovation. Meta is only letting you have a slice of control over what you see because Bluesky is here building for you.
We wrote on Saturday about how Meta is going all-out to meet the threat of Bluesky: wapo.st/3OrYxBj

Today they took another step— finally allowing users to set their default feeds to a chronological “following” feed.

The hacker ecosystem here is truly remarkable. I'm not convinced that closed networks and ecosystems can match the chaotic, decentralized innovation that will only accelerate with the AT protocol.

People make prompting too hard. Most people would benefit from just using good enough prompting techniques. I outline some basic rules, including why “treat AI like an intern” is no longer the advice I would give new AI users. www.oneusefulthing.org/p/getting-st...

It's Sunday morning so taking a minute for a nerdy thread (on math, tokenizers and LLMs) of the work of our intern Garreth

By adding a few lines of code to the base Llama 3 tokenizer, he got a free boost in arithmetic performance 😮

So much "craftsmanship" stuff suddenly is no longer important.
