From the most basic perspective, if the government isn't attempting to help people [irregardless of their citizenship], then it is not a government worthy of support. The government is meant to protect the people -- the most basic function of government. We are so far from that concept right now.

GOP politicians & policy makers in America have sailed past the point in which their law-breaking behavior is so bad that they are actively campaigning on the fact that if they lose they will go to prison and they are trying to sell that fact to their voting base as the other side being vindictive.
