Because the internet can be so dangerous for kids, and getting whatever they want instantly is bad for their brains, I want my future children to have relatively unplugged childhoods, and I think I'll have to lead by example. They wouldn't understand why I can be on social media and they can't.

I do notice when a family brings their toddler in a stroller or cart to the stores where I work as a custodian, and the kid just silently observes their surroundings and watches me do my thing, rather than being on a smartphone or tablet. And it makes my day.
