If Trump hadn't been allowed to run for president again, that would've been much more meaningful than a plaque, as seen by the fact that it can be put in storage. There are many crimes the US government has, in essence, done the same about. Like the Epstein files, I guess. Typical govt corruption.

House Republicans, under Speaker Mike Johnson, have refused to install a plaque honoring the police officers who defended the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

The plaque was mandated by a bipartisan law passed in 2022 and was completed and ready for installation, but it remains in storage.

Tbh when people have said "even if hypothetically a slave enjoyed slavery, it is wrong to benefit from slavery," I kinda wish they would mention that it's an economic disaster to have an underclass of people expected to take away jobs while earning nothing of their own to put back into the system

I've also been absolutely inundated with ads for Christian apps and discounted or free (just pay shipping) Bibles and Books of Mormon, when I've just been viewing media about historical theology in general. So another part of this could also be getting in on a bargain.

These things are astroturfed. The songs people hear in retail stores are not impartial, for example, and they subliminally but palpably change trends and norms, and what the average consumer is thinking about. Last month I started hearing "You Raise Me Up" in department stores and it gave me pause.
