If I were a Mainer, and I'm not a Mainer, and the Senate election were today, I'd vote for Graham Platner to take on Susan Collins. Simply put, I can't think of a metric by which Janet Mills would be better against Collins, better for Maine, or better for the Democratic Party than Platner. THREAD.

Hold on….I thought the “with autism” was why I was allowed to keep mine in my purse, and feed it jellybeans. Is that incorrect? Am I doing it wrong? /s

As someone who had to learn “person first language” in ed school before I dx’ed, it is wild to realize most advocacy is just ableism in a bad hat.

Labor market analyst Amanda Goodall: “WTF! Hiring just hit the lowest level since 2009. Only 204,939 hires so far in 2025. That’s a 58% collapse year on year. Worse than anything since the financial crisis. The data’s out there... and no one’s ready to admit what it means. No data = no panic… right?

I literally lol’ed!

If you are better at being tactful and find success with it, lmk. I am still too shocked by people blatantly choosing their egos and comfort over humanity to do anything but be angry and blunt.

I know for me it’s seeing how steeped we are in These Times, and realizing it’s now or never. We can save feelings, but we can’t regrow the resources it will kill. And we are literally at a turning point where we turn the ship around or dive straight into annihilation. We need to wake up.

I feel bad for them, but it’s a little….self serving to try to remoralize it in their favor. I get that it hurts, and I don’t know if I could do a job where AI was required, but I am a little tired of people choosing their feelings first. And a little tired of “accepting” bad things to save face.

the actual story here, which the media never talks about, is that police in this country have become a discrete right-wing political operation. the story isn't about cops leaving (they're lying about that), it's about the police trying to exert influence over elections.

Lmao is this supposed to be a bad thing?
A tweet from Bari Weiss that says “"It's shaken me to my core," a lieutenant said of Mamdani's unexpected victory in June. "The absolute dread I feel is palpable.
"
Today in @TheFP our @Olivia_Reingold talks to the cops who say they will walk if Zohran Mamdani is elected in November:”

Reality Winner was sent to prison for telling the American people that Russia was trying to hack into American voting systems during the 2016 election.

I believe our government/Obama completely botched protecting our electoral system.

Reality Winner was a whistleblower who tried to save democracy.

The only thing this leaves out is most Americans don’t buy $180 shirts bc we are too poor/the current economic system doesn’t support it (he does mention the min wage at the end).

We are dependent on cheap labor and cheap goods to survive, and it is killing us.

This two-parter below is exactly why it's hard to make clothes in the United States.

Let's look at how much it costs to produce a button-up shirt in the US. 🧵
Someone on Twitter replies to me: "meh. buy american or stfu."

Two hours later, in a separate thread, the write: "$30 for a single button-up is ridiculous unless it is decent quality silk."

That’s a long winded way of saying they have the reasoning of a 12 year old.
manicpixiehobbit.bsky.social
Well, when you’re psychotic and angry and don’t understand basic economics because Project 2025 came from your 12 year old incel brain, you forget wealth comes from labor and is controlled either by strength or charisma. And then you do stupid shit bc you have no attachment to reality.

I’ve been saying this for years - you cannot understand autism or autistiphobia without understanding how antisemitism plays a roll in it and autism's intellectual development.

Now RFK Jr is claiming circumcision causes autism.

This isn’t accidental.

I do think it is on us to spell it out to people that is the kind of unhinged wacko shit these technofascists believe. For you, normal person, this is a toy. The people in charge however believe they are inventing God and that's fuck nuts.

Honestly, a lot of what is “available”, or at least advertised, IS very homogenous and corporate. Of course good stuff exists, but capitalism has done a good job squeezing the market of originality and making it difficult/hiding the good stuff. It’s on purpose to drive out dissent and diverse voices

“Embracing the future/change” is an absolutely villainous concept. It assumes the existence of a future that must either be accepted or rejected, but fails to recognize that we are actively & constantly shaping it. “It” has no separate existence. And is all change good? No one believes that.

So when I hear of students being encouraged to use GPT in college I don’t hear innovation. I hear cognitive atrophy, the inability to think critically for oneself, and total dependence on vulnerable centralized repositories of data for knowledge without ever understanding how knowledge is generated.

Let’s be clear: the use of AI is nothing more than entitlement. It’s not a tool, it’s a cheating machine, and it’s used by people frightened to confront their ego.

The best part is that AI produces erroneous slop. Y’all still aren’t passing.

I wrote a 15 page report on heraldic symbolism in medieval armor and weapon design for my art history class the night before it was due (8am class). Made up 90% of it (only found one book for reference) and got an A. GenAI could fucking never.
wrote 20 pages on Faulkner's The Bear four hours before final papers were due on trucker pills and coffee and cigarettes and got an A, fuck you.
You people couldn't hang with real slackers.
