It’s widely known (and, I think, pretty uncontroversial) that learning requires effort — specifically, if you don’t have to work at getting the knowledge, it won’t stick.

It’s widely known (and, I think, pretty uncontroversial) that learning requires effort — specifically, if you don’t have to work at getting the knowledge, it won’t stick.

My favourite Polish fact. On the first day of spring kids skip school (sometimes even in a “sanctioned” way) to build a straw impersonation of winter, set it on fire and throw it into a river.
Of course the older you get the more exciting reasons you have to skip school ;)

When a BBC reporter can do this, without privileged access to communications data, I find it hard to accept law enforcement's constant claim that they are "going dark" because of encrypted messaging. Encryption is not the main obstacle to effective law enforcement.
