weird people fall in love with each other all the time
1st panel: A dismal, awkwardly warmly lit hotel / convention center panel room like what you would see in the 90s or 2000s. A pink rabbit fursuiter holding a build-a-bear wolf, having waited in the corner, waves to an approaching blueberry wolf fursuiter. They both call out their usernames, "Blueberry Bella" and "KidfurKiki87" 2nd panel: Out of suit, the two are cuddled together on the couch in quilts and blankets. The build-a-bear wolf is resting against the build-a-bear bunny. Bella is holding Kiki, their fursuit heads on the dresser in the background. Behind the fursuit head, a "Days until Kiki's home: 0!" Lanyards of past conventions and their years are on a corkboard. --- Original art piece idea by @mIdrux on Twitter, but I and others were disappointed they drew it with mean-spirited intentions.. even calling the kidfur character a "diddyblud" (yes. verbatim) and getting wrapped up in "proship discourse." I thought the message was too human to let it be diluted + overshadowed by typical online whataboutisms and wanted to redo + reclaim it with more touches of the furry fandom, esp being a furry myself. It's love. For some, the love of your life is in the corner of a boring furcon panel room -- even if they don't have the same "interests," it's care that bridges the gap.

Relax - Gator Days Transcript Panel 1 Polly is attempting to relax at a coffee shop. Unfortunately, her mom asked her to bring her little sister along. Polly just wants to sit and enjoy her coffee but Olivia will be having none of that. Olivia: Why do you like coffee shops? Polly: The relaxing ambiance. I honestly don't know whether I should spell it ambience or ambiance so I'm spelling it one way in the comic and another way in the transcript. Panel 2 Olivia is not finding this relaxing at all. It's just boring. Olivia: What's relaxing? The bad music? The old people? Polly: It's the vibe. There is an older woman standing nearby and Olivia has said what she said in a loud enough voice to possibly offend. Fortunately for her, this old person has ruined her hearing. Please remember to bring ear protection to loud concerts, places with loud machinery, and coffee shops that play bad music. Panel 3 Suddenly, Olivia starts vibrating. She somehow managed to get the staff to serve her coffee. Olivia: I'm not relaxed! I'm shaking! Polly: I told you to get decaf! Panel 4 Perhaps this isn't as boring as Olivia originally thought. Olivia: And you don't look relaxed. Polly: BECAUSE OF YOU! Olivia is not going to sleep tonight.

Living through the end of the world — at least, as one knows it.

I remember little else from that night. Or I remember it, but through a dream-fog of panic. I remember how Rav From Whence sprung immediately into action — or, rather, how she was already a whirlwind of motion and emotion, there in the thick of it all, and how the instance beside me, one who had existed to track our discussion, merged down as soon as she saw what was happening, and I remember how Rav Sorenson dashed in to help. The both of them had soon forked several times over and were corralling the crowd into knots of smaller groups that they might speak more easily with them, working on the level of family, perhaps, or friend-group. I remember how I stood, once more, just as What Right Have I#Coffee had done, gawking at the pandemonium I remember most of all, though, the first wail — the first recognition of loss and the first wail of despair and pain that rang out into the night — and the bright arc of a firework soaring into the sky, bursting, and then the sudden disappearance as the show was canceled. I remember hearing the wail, seeing the sparks and then sudden dark, and then stepping to my room to hide under my desk, letting flow tears of confusion, frustration, and terror.
