Its so cool that I can sit at my computer and control a telescope and see actual nebulas in almost real time.

Haven't really been motivated to do a jam in a while so I thought I'd go look at some of the games I've made and list my 5 favorites (In no order). Obviously these are jam games and super rough, but I'm still proud of them: (1/7)

First time trying a tracker, just stacked and stretched to see how much data I have. The southern celestial pole is blocked from my yard so polar alignment is an issue, noticeable trails at 30 seconds. Guess next step is to learn drift alignment :D

Going from average to bad at counter strike over the last 10 years is funny because there are a bunch of other people that are also now bad and so at low level prem people are throwing full exec smokes on the fly but none of us can actually aim any more.

I know musk is a dick, but falcon and dragon are both critical infrastructure and starship is frankly our best hope at rapid reusable scalable mass to orbit. We should all be cheering on the SpaceX team. The issue is the debris crossed flight paths, there needs to be more work on making ruds safe.

OK. Getting a Star Adventurer GTI from Amazon, also bought a bunch of 2nd hand lenses for my DSLR from TradeMe (I got the body for super cheap 2nd hand).

The telescope and camera is 2.5kg, half the payload capacity of the GTI, so I think I just need a dovetail plate and I'm good to go.

I've got a Canon 1100D and a low end 80mm acro refractor. I'm 100% sure the next thing I should get is a mount, but I've only spent like $100 or something so far and it's going to be over $1000 to get something like the Star Adventurer GTI.

humming and harring super hard rn.

Check out this absolute unit. It's an old brass focuser from a 20" newtonian reflector.

Alright 2nd attempt: Orion nebula (I think!).

I can see why people talk about the chromatic aberration on these lower end refractors! There is distinct blue fringe around every bright object. This is definitely better than my first attempt though I think :D

First go at astrophotography beyond just using my phone to take pictures of the moon. It's really cloudy and all I can see with my eyeballs is the bright star in the center which I think is sirus, not sure to be honest I can't see much through the cloud gaps.

Did you know? Black Friday is named in honor of Rebecca Black, who invented Friday in 2011.

Just got a Canon EOS 1100D body for super cheap to try get started in astrophotography. Can't wait for it to be not cloudy lol

I know not to expect much with my low end short-tube 80mm refractor and no tracking mount but I'm excited to try out the basics!

My pixel art is super iffy so I've decided to kind start at the beginning and work through this book that I got way back in 2019ish nostarch.com/pixelart

I struggle with using shading in general, but specifically to show curves and depth in shapes and these silhouette exercises are super helpful.
