I feel pretty confident about the act of making watercolor, oil, and acrylic paintings but the business of it all is still a mystery to me and i'd say im quite unsuccessful on the business side of things. But if anyone ever wants to ask how i did or achieved some specific effect or color go for it
Share your knowledge if/when you can. Teaching other people how to do what you do doesn’t lessen your art - it just means more and better art for everyone.
I appreciate when people are willing to tell me about their brushes, how they study, etc… I want to put that back out into the world.

Everytime i think about the furnace that is AI, I end up getting really angry about how all that money could go to something useful like feeding, sheltering, educating, giving healthcare to people instead of just shoveling money into a furnace that provides nothing of value.

I know that in theory most people wouldnt be mad if I were like reposting my art for sale semi regularly but my brain just absolutely fucking hates doing it.

Absolutely any amount of wood smoke makes my eyes and nose burn. I love the winter but fuck do i hate certain aspects of the winter. Take away the fires and the holidays please.

The ultimate Memphis elementary school kid field trip was the peabody one. I wanna say I got to see the ducks and the peabody in like 1st grade and it was pretty peak. And yes I wanted to herd ducks.
Adding "duck master" to my list of aspirational careers.

This is why im incredibly picky about where and when and why i buy things. Its not just shein and its not just clothes too. Theres so much labor exploitation in the world and we can try to not be participants.
The people who make Shein's clothes labor for ten to twelve hours per day (in violation of China's labor laws), some up to seven days a week, and earn as little as 15 to 30 cents per t-shirt.

She is in an alleyway, where a dozen people are huddled around a row of bulletin boards.

This is Shein's supply chain. The factories are contracted to make clothes on order - some small, some big. If the chinos are a hit, orders will ramp up and so must production. Factories then hire temporary workers to meet the demand their permanent staff cannot fulfil.
The migrant worker from Jiangxi is looking for a short-term contract - and the chinos are an option.
"We earn so little. The cost of living is now so high," she says, adding that she hopes to make enough to send back to her two children who are living with their grandparents.

Sometimes i think about the amount of times that i described what i now know is executive dysfunction to therapists and get frustrated because like i said all the right words lol "I want to do this thing and it makes me happy when i do it but then I just cant make myself do it"

You dont know what you got till its gone: my neighbors of 16 years moved out and they were cool quiet people and now ive been hearing flippers for a full week and they're just like haphazardly cutting up trees.
