Have no doubt, the US wants to install puppet governments in all of South America to exploit their resources. By destabilisation or force starting with Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba. He’s already meddled with elections in Argentina and Honduras. The US corruption is on full show.

Delighted my article on Australia’s shameful education system (stealing resources from children of the poor to further advantage children of the better off) features in The Saturday Paper’s list of its best in 2025. Hope it also helps drives change. www.thesaturdaypaper.com.au/comment/topi...

TFW you’re watching something and it feels so cringe and you realise someone just used AI to animate a photo they stole from someone else and watching it means you’re contributing to a world where models and actors lose the jobs that keep them from starving between gigs and the whole thing is FAKE!

Dogs are hardcore, aren't they? My dog was munching on a carrot, then performed some possessed acrobatics and spat out a molar (he's had $1000 of dentistry incl 15 teeth out - small dog mouths are shite - but they won't put him under since the raven fed him a scrap of 1080 - true story).

It’s interesting that in every community there’s people who are ready to turn on others in their community if given some zealous noise. MORE interesting is that they are so prepared to out themselves right now or join ICE … how handy if someone is taking names.

Am I brave enough to go get my ear re-pierced? I've spent a whole year just being a one-earring pirate hag.

What is ‘cli-fi’ and why is it so hot right now?
A literary genre that's really heating up.

In grasslands shaped by fire one tree reigns supreme. The grass tree, Xanthorrhoea. Impervious to fire, it needs heat and soot to germinate seeds. Slow growing, many of these are 100 years old. The flower spikes contain resin used by the local peoples.

When I was at high school there was a thing called the Bursary and it strikes me now that a scheme where highschool graduates can win money for uni with grades is brilliant! Was that how it worked? Kids from Huntly college weren’t told about uni so 🤷‍♀️ but if that’s how the boomers afforded uni. Wow!

I feel like social media is in self-throttling phase. I'm old, so I remember forums where you'd say something and intelligent people would say something back. Now you say something and 100 accounts, half of which are bots, pile in with idiotic replies. Life's too short.

WA we have all your homing pigeons. They are grumpy, shitty and ill-equipped for desert life. Half-dead, they are drawn to us like an apocalypse movie opening. Racing pigeons is not a sport. After seeing poop-spattered cities and Trafalgar Square, I realise they're not actually good at 'Homing'.

NZ Parliament and Brownlee need to take a good long look at whose land they’re standing on before they go shutting down parliament over a waiata! Fragile old white men’s egos deserve a good slap.
