i wish i didn't feel compelled to talk about AI in any shape or form. i'm neither completely pro, completely anti, or a (self-)defined centrist and i think any discussion has space for nuances as long as they aren't at the expense of marginalised people (but aren't they all in some way?)

i wrote this after i saw someone get annoyed at "bad faith" takes on a Veo 3 demo posted on here. perhaps not all commentary comes with *academic reasoning* and optimism but shit like this is one of many reasons why people get pissed by default

I've said this before but we need to investigate why people feel the need to use AI for these things. What can we, as humans with said brains, do better to make people feel comfortable so they don't get scared of asking "stupid questions"?
