Great to speak to @wedonthavetime.bsky.social at #COP30 about the unstoppable pressure rising against Big Oil. From government leaders and mayors to frontline communities and campaigners, people everywhere are saying - enough!

As I left #COP30 in Brazil, I saw the brilliant @fionaharvey.bsky.social and gave her my take on the summit: Finally, the fossil fuel giants are in the crosshairs. The political space is open. Now we must turn it into a real fire escape to a safer world.

Great sum-up piece 👇

The fossil fuel giants and billionaires have plenty of cash. Time to #MakePollutersPay!
A lot of people were disappointed and angry about the $300bn goal set at COP29 and with good reason,

@joshgabbatiss.bsky.social breaks down the main problems with the target, incl:

1. It can nearly be met with 'no additional effort'
2. Developing countries nearly close the gap
3. Inflation.
NEW – Analysis: Why the $300bn climate-finance goal is even less ambitious than it seems | @joshgabbatiss.bsky.social w/comment from @joethwaites.bsky.social Li Shuo @cgdev.org
