Friends, tonight's the night that Comet Lemmon will be making its closest approach to Earth for the next 1350 years. It's also a new moon. If it's clear after sunset where you are, find the big dipper (see below) to catch a glimpse of it... Here is my image of it from a few days ago, it is a beauty!
Oh man, so so so many awful characters we as fanbases have had to sit through over the years! Hats off to the Mariners... it was a tough series and a great year for both fanbases!

Look at that starburst!!

The Cigar Galaxy experiences star formation 10x faster than in our Milky Way. All of that bright red we see are millions upon millions of stars being born! Starburst!!!

It took 12 million years for this light to reach my telescope in Victoria, BC.

Comet Lemmon is getting closer to Earth! This beauty is now barely visible to the naked eye just after sunset and is getting brighter every day! It is now 92,000,000 km from us.
Taken from my back yard in Victoria, BC 🙂
Comet Lemmon is getting brighter and is barely visible to the naked eye... if you want to try to see it, look just after sunset using the handle of the bog dipper as your reference. As the month moves on, the big dipper will move the the right but this is the area where you can see it...
It is located right after sunset just below the big dipper…
My first catch of the glorious comet Lemmon. This beauty is getting closer to Earth and may be visible to the naked eye just after sunset after October 21. It will be back again this way in 1350 years…
Hahahah! On this day in 2012, Roy Henry Vickers and I got our photo taken with Bob Dylan (kind of!)!!!!

8 years ago today, the world was introduced to the word Levidrome (a word that spells another word backwards like tip-pit). It is now officially the first word to describe that linguistic phenomenon to be included in any dictionary! www.vicnews.com/local-news/a...

The Iris Nebula!

Check out all of that space dust! The coolest! This is what is known as a reflection nebula: the light beams from a central star and then reflects off the surrounding dust clouds in a brilliant blue light.

It took 1400 years for this light to hit my telescope in Victoria, BC.
