The concept of wizards as being snooty and stuck up has always struck me as being weird AF, so in Elgathaea at least the culture of wizardiness is more about fascination and excitement at learning something new about how magic works than it is about... WELL, anything else other than using magic.

Okay, more on this now. Spacetime as a fabric is observed in Quintessence as a complex pattern of Space and Time threads, as well as a continuous stream of Time threads perceived as filtering through the fabric itself into an additional, separate pattern.
Space and Time are self explanatory, but also more complicated than my dumb hugmage brain wants to get into right now. They are woven as a fabric together, but are still separate threads/ materials.
