Despite all my allergies I could always enjoy the smell of flowers. Except roses. I cannot smell roses at all. I can smell the leaves on the stem, the soil, sometimes when the water. The rose flower. Never have. Any other flower to my knowledge I smell.

It is not going to fade. I temper it by reminding myself that being the best requires rest and planning. Beyond that, it is not an instinct I will ever stop. Especially after a decade of not being able to operate at my full capabilities.
