Last night, I was pleased to attend another sold out annual @friendsofmedicare.bsky.social fundraiser demonstrating the value Albertans place in this essential watchdog organization.

Yesterday, on the day that Danielle Smith and the UCP were supposed to release the CorruptCare report, they focused on license plates.

I have been an MLA for the last 10 years. None of my constituents ever told me that new license plates were their main priority.

Tonight, my colleague @janisirwin.bsky.social and I joined NDP volunteers in Spruce Grove to knock on doors and talk to voters about the issues that matter most to them.

As usual, I found that there is much more that unites Albertans than divides us. #abpoli #bettertogethersummer
As of today, Alberta has the lowest minimum wage in the country. Alberta also has the highest youth unemployment in Canada.

The argument that raising the minimum wage increases youth unemployment is clearly not based in fact.

It's time to raise Alberta's minimum wage. #abpoli #bettertogether
On Monday, Calgary high school student Evan Li tried to raise concerns about education at a town hall hosted by the UCP but the moderator refused to let him speak.

Last night @naheednenshi.bsky.social gave Evan the opportunity to speak that the UCP denied him.

Yesterday, I chatted with Lloydminster Airport staffers Terry and Dayne about their hope that a new passenger carrier soon steps up to replace WestJet, which ended service to Lloydminster in 2023.

This region deserves regularly scheduled air service.

After the UCP increased co-payments by 40% on seniors’ drug plans, a leaked cabinet document reveals that Danielle Smith has secret plans to charge Albertans hundreds of millions more for their prescription drugs.

Swipe the photos for our full statement. #abpoli #ableg #abhealth
Danielle Smith and the UCP's vision for Alberta "Pharmacare" is to charge seniors hundreds of millions more each year for prescription drugs--at a time when many Albertans are struggling with increased cost of family essentials.

The leaked documents outline that the UCP government’s increase in Albertan’s drug co-pays have been designed to cost Albertans $18 million in new fees.

What we heard during our Better Together Town Halls was what my staff and I hear every day in Edmonton-McClung.

Albertans can get timely access to tests, surgery and vaccines. Health care providers can work as a team.

We just need a govt that believes in public health care. #betterispossible
Danielle Smith promised to fix healthcare in 90 days. It’s been over a 1000 days, and it’s only gotten worse.

You told us what better healthcare looks like.

We’re fighting for it. ⬇️

Last weekend, I stopped by the Aldergrove Community League Day event.

Many thanks to the volunteers who organize these events! They do amazing work, with and for their neighbours, to make our communities better places to live, work and raise a family.

Last weekend, I attended the Daughters' Day event held every year at Edmonton City Hall to celebrate the contributions that women of all ages have made to building our community.

I am always inspired after events like these and this year was no exception.

I was fortunate to be able to share a few moments with former Senator, global historian and renowned human rights advocate, author and scholar Doug Roche at the 17th Annual Sir John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights Awards Ceremony.

Today, I met with my constituent Mike, a disability advocate. He shared some thoughts with me about the UCP's planned changes to AISH that I would like to share with you.

Later today, my colleague @marierenaud.bsky.social is hosting a Town Hall. To register: www.albertandpcaucus.ca/events/event...
Today, the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce hosted Canada's Minister of International Trade, Maninder Sidhu, who spoke of the need for trade diversification & the value of our International Trade Commissioner Services in a wide ranging fireside chat with Chamber President Doug Griffiths. #abpoli
After knocking on doors in Edmonton-McClung, I joined several @albertandp.ca colleagues at our Better Together Town Hall in Sherwood Park. More great conversations and further confirmation that Albertans are united on the things that matter, including health care, education & a united Canada #abpoli
Thanks to my good friend Mike for joining me on the doors last night in Edmonton-McClung.

I learn so much from these conversations with my constituents
We have more in common with one another than we sometimes think. Don't let the UCP tell you otherwise.

As part of the @albertandp.ca's ongoing conversations with Albertans, I attended the Rural Development Network's AGM today. Participants shared insights on important rural issues like housing, rural economic development & bus transportation.

Thanks for the conversation! #abpoli #ruralalberta
Last night's Better Together Town Hall in Spruce Grove was an incredible success! People shared their hopes & fears about public health & education, community safety, the cost of living & the future of rural Alberta.

Thanks for a great evening, Spruce Grove!

Pleased to meet with West Edmonton Business Association (weBA) board members to listen to their ideas about small business & to renew my own membership in weBA. If you are a business owner in west Edmonton or the surrounding area, go to Weba.org to learn more. #abpoli #smallbusiness
Last in the parking lot as usual. Great conversations in Spruce Grove tonight about how we are all Better Together across Alberta and throughout Canada.

Thanks for sharing, Spruce Grove! #abpoli #bettertogethersummer #abndp
See you in a few hours, Spruce Grove!

My @albertandp.ca colleagues @pancholirakhi.bsky.social, @jodiabndp.bsky.social and I are looking forward to hearing about the issues that matter most to you and how Albertans and Canadians are Better Together.

Alberta families deserve a government that is caring and that puts their health, well-being, and affordability ahead of picking fights with Ottawa.
My pal Laura joined me again tonight for conversations with some of my constituents. No matter the neighbourhood, the same issues keep coming up: the rising cost of car insurance, overcrowded classrooms, growing wait times for health care, & UCP attacks on Albertans with disabilities. #abpoli
Pleased to join families at the Edmonton and District Labour Council annual Labour Day BBQ. We must continue to work in solidarity for fair wages, safer workplaces, basic labour standards including holiday and sick pay & the right to bargain for a better deal at work. #bettertogether❤️ #labourday
