Little sign of heatwave in #Assynt last week, but water levels low. #Waterfall from Loch na Gainmhich for #Sharemondays2025

#Scotland #landscapephotography #nature #photography
A vertical drop waterfall, with person in front for scale, lies at the end of a gorge of rocky cliffs covered in part by green and yellow gorse and bushes. The bubbling stream makes its way towards the camera over small, scattered rocks.

Stunning! Trying to work out how much is in camera and how much in edit. 🤔😂

Thank you Alina. It's a beautiful loch any time of the year. Great for swimming in, when it's warm enough! 😅

Today's #BlueSkyArtShow theme is #Glow
Last light on my local freshwater loch, Loch Eck, last January.

#landscapephotography #Scotland #nature #photography #sunset
A serene image on a clear winter evening, looking down the loch. In the foreground lies still water; dark forested hills on either side in the centre, with snow capped mountains behind. In the distance the sky glows orange.

Lovely set of images Brent. Photographing landscape vistas, or fine details of nature around me, has made me slow down, notice, and enjoy the wonders nature provides all around us. I try to evoke the emotional connection as well as record the memories.

Thank you. The aim was to emote the amazing variety of blue tones and peacefulness of Harris. So glad it resonates with you. 😁

I taught English at a public university for 6 years from 2002. Wonderful place. Also remember watching storms on the coast below me on weekends away up high in the Sierra Madre mountains. I'd just started taking digital images with a Canon Powershot. 😁

Super shot Tommy. Brings back memories of working in Huatulco, Mexico, and being mesmerised by ocean storms.

Pink and Blue Hour on a Northumberland beach. A hand held long exposure rather than true ICM late one evening, to portray a soft, painterly mood. Just booked a week back here for next February.
#landscapephotography #photography #coast #bluehour
A late evening sandy beach scene, of pastel pinks and blues, showing a glimmer of pink light in the sky and reflected in the wet sand. Shadowed undulations add depth to the beach, and gentle shadow waves line the sea.

Thank you. It's a cool island!

Where better to #relax than a deserted beach. The stunning Backaskaill Bay on the island of #Sanday, #Orkney this August.

#BlueSkyArtShow #landscapephotography #nature #coast #photography
At low tide, sand ripples spread vertically in the foreground along a long white sand beach, with a left-behind shallow pool adding a blue sky reflection in the centre, with a sliver of water running to the sea.

Well done Christopher. Thoroughly deserved. Wonderfully atmospheric image.

Still feels like summer here in Dunoon, but foliage starting to turn.
#Scape taken a few years ago overlooking the Crinan Canal in Argyll and Bute. The 9 mile long canal, opened in 1801, provides a navigable route to cut off the long sail around the Kintyre Peninsula.
#landscapephotography
A view looking down on the Crinan canal, with a few yachts in the basin, showing the curve of the towpath separating the sea inlet from the canal. The small, local hillsides show the trees starting to turn from green to brown in places, but still mostly green.

It’s gone so quickly from ‘boat people’ to all immigrants. So quickly from ‘I don’t mind if they come here legally and pay taxes’ to ‘actually it’s anyone foreign’. We are living in the ‘first they came for’ poem. All to give the population a scapegoat so the super rich can hoard yet more wealth.

Starting the week with #BlueSkyMonday. Dried winter reeds from St Abbs Head trip earlier this year.

#Photography #nature #landscapephotography
Looking up at tall, thin stalked, dried winter reeds, against a blue sky. The blackened, fluffy seed heads are blowing in the breeze.

#BlueSkyArtShow #Angles

Rock outcrops at low tide at Backaskaill Bay, #Sanday. Taken a few weeks ago in #Orkney

#landscapephotography #coast #photography #scape
To reflect the theme of angles. A group of light coloured, flat topped rocks, at low tide on a sandy beach, form a 45 degree angle in the middle foreground. Minimal waves stretch out to the horizon where the beach ends, topped by fluffy, white clouds.

A moody day at Budle Point on the #Northumberland coast last winter. Perfect for an #ICM image.

#Scape #landscapephotography #abstract #photography #intentionalcameramovement
An intentional camera movement image of a coastal scene of blue grey sky, which blends into a white grey sea, and swirling patterns on a dark gold sand beach.

We're used to seeing the brown, dried remains of #seaweed left behind on beaches, but low tide along a rocky shore reveals the wonderful tones and textures when it's freshly revealed.

#textureTuesday #photography #nature #coast
Close up shot of a freshly revealed patch of green and yellow seaweed. The long fronds, some tipped with bifurcating yellow pods, spread out from a central point at the top corner.
