I just learned about 'solastalgia' from philosopher Glenn Albrecht—an emotional connection to place profound enough that its degradation causes genuine distress. Feeling this.
In Sufi writing, it’s common to speak of Love ambiguously. It’s unclear if the Beloved the Sufi refers to is God, or a lover — because for the Sufi, it’s one and the same. God is Love & the Supreme Beloved. In loving, one becomes a lover. In being a lover, one becomes the Beloved.
I wrote about Rothko, who died on Feb 26, 1970. He marked my life as an artist. When I first encountered Rothko's vast color fields at the Tate, something shifted within me. The boundaries between canvas and my body dissolved. satosan.substack.com/p/rembering-...

Are you guiding and creating from a place of trust?
How are you getting into your body today?
It's time to turn your life experience into something beautiful. Let's go.
Hey fam, I still think about David Lynch and how much we've lost. How much he gave us. <3
"Beauty was not simply something to behold; it was something one could do." - Toni Morrison
And that's exactly what this work embodies.
This work matters because photography's history is stained with bias - technology built only for white skin. McKenzie shows us what the medium should have always been: capturing the full spectrum of human beauty.
The genius is in the details: Black and brown bodies photographed in pure joy, naturally owning the space. Organic materials flow like second skin - where does fabric end and body begin?
McKenzie captures diverse women moving through @remiconnollytaylor's stunning architecture. The magic? How light and melanin dance together, creating moments where skin literally glows from within.
Looking back at this collaboration between @atmosmag and Ronan McKenzie - a masterclass in light, color, and representation.
Super down to start a book club!

Beyond the surface beauty, this story explores embodiment and connection. The conversation between Prentis and Adrienne adds another layer of richness. #photography #meaningfulart #dialogue read the story through the link above. <3
The tenderness in these images speaks to the innocence and wonder within us all. They reawaken a sense of childlike awe. ✨ #photography #childhood #inspiration
These photos are more than just movement; they embody rhythm and playfulness. It's like the images themselves are dancing! #photography #storytelling #emotion
Work directed with photographer Toby Coulson for Atmos Magazine, exploring the essence of rhythm and playfulness in our bodies, with custom-created clothing that speaks to restoring our natural rhythms. There's something magical in how the set design interplays with the children's movements.
As storytellers, as creatives, our power lies in embodying that infinite source of creation. It's how we reclaim our sensual, delicious selves. Embodied awareness is our way back home - intimacy with where we are right now, what is happening, and how we are meeting it.
