This leads readers to believe that "using floodwater to recharge aquifers" is different then dams and aquifer overdraft. Calif's SGMA supports an "all of the above" strategy that includes floodMAR to attempt recharge of deep pressurized aquifers that contain fossil water: a false promise.

The July 2024 Park Fire burned in the Big Chico Creek Watershed. Recent summer storms released major sediment into what is normally a clear stream. I worry that the sediment smothers all life in the creek.
