health journalist. Focus on aging, caregiving, policy, and more. Grandma. Dog mom. Partial to strong coffee, dark chocolate, red wine. AHCJ, ASJA, JAWS.
I never thought there were so many horrible people in this country.
No matter how long I live after we get through this dark chapter, I will never get over the immorality, the amorality, the corruption, the criminality and the cruelty in service to one of the worst humans to ever walk the earth.

Three cheers for Bloomberg journalist @catherinelucey.bsky.social for maintaining professionalism in the face of sweaty absurdity.

Your question rattled him and he showed the world how close he is to snapping. Well done.

@lawrenceodonnelljr.bsky.social praising ABC News’ Mary Bruce for doing her job questioning Trump and bin Salman about Khashogg’s murder. I wish other reporters had picked up on this and pushed harder.

@lawrenceodonnelljr.bsky.social is giving yet another master class in the hypocrisy of the @senategop.govpeeps.us since 49 of them reversed their vote on releasing the #Epsteinfiles from September. And Mike Johnson has been thoroughly called out as the liar and weasel he is.
November 19, 2025 at 3:21 AM
Both House and Senate approved the Epstein bill today in just hours. I don’t ever want to hear again how things can’t get done in Congress. When the motivation is there, things can move as quickly as they want. Any delays are created by people not processes.

Over 1,000 young girls were raped, sexually abused, & victimized by very powerful men. Over many years. Those young girls are the ONLY victims in this horrible story.

There are tens of thousands of Epstein pages we already know about. Dems could release a handful of pages every day between now and the midterms just to continually keep this in the news cycle. Just sayin’

@maddow.msnbc.com excoriated the @senatedemocrats.bsky.social for caving on the CR. @lawrenceodonnell.msnbc.com had a different explanation of the compromise. Reminder that two very smart people can have different views and both be right. Also, thx for a terrific lesson on Senate inner workings.

This is pure, unadulterated evil.

The president of the United States is deliberately trying to starve millions of people.
Any food which has gotten to poor families the states must send agents to reclaim the food before it is eaten or face new federal penalties
“.. The Agriculture Department issued the command in a late-night Saturday memo .. That guidance threatened to impose financial penalties on states that did not “comply” quickly with the government’s new orders.”

The wording of this is highly unusual, and suggests that Justice Jackson is expecting the First Circuit to rule on a stay pending appeal (a longer pause of the district court's order) in the next few days.

I'll have more to say about this in "One First" as soon as I can write it up.

It’s important to note this was a procedural action, not a ruling on the merits of the underlying case. Justice Jackson wasn’t siding with the Trump administration; she was making sure the legal process unfolded correctly and fairly.
