NEW info on shipwreck attack. It gets worse.

The 2 survivors climbed atop wreckage and waved to overhead.

"Some of the people viewing the video thought ... could have been an attempt to surrender"

Others "said the most logical explanation was ... signaling for a rescue."

how a golf game with Trey Gowdy resulted in a presidential pardon for Tim Leiweke. If you are a convicted felon who didn't attack the Capitol on Jan 6 and do not know anyone who plays golf with Trump, your chances for a pardon are slim to none:

Phil Klay's short essay drawing heavily on a passage from Augustine is easily the most impressive writing on the Hegseth/Trump boat strikes to appear in the pages of NYT. Kudos to Klay for this piece and to NYT for publishing it.

This never happens. A "no true bill" is a once-in-10,000 visits kind of event. And then for the supervising magistrate judge to send the proposed indictment to be formally docketed with a notation of "no true bill" is even more exceptional.

I worked for Frank Gehry. Because of him, I went to The Simpsons Halloween party, had a key to the Disney Concert Hall, met amazing artists. Frank was wonderful to me. When I left his office, he said you'll do big things, just try to stay out of politics. Sorry, Frank. Your memory is a blessing ❤️

I note with sadness and loss the death of my friend and client Frank Gehry. He was a man of exceptional warmth and depth, a man bent on doing good rather than just talking about it. Something I noted particularly in his talks with clients in the Gulf States where he was adamant about respect
