The old "eve of the election" argument-- who remembers how the Rs in the Senate refused to consider Obama's nomination of Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court in March 2016. Weaponized against Ds only, of course...Trump nominated Barrett in September 2020.

It's as if the court had decided sua sponte to document the malicious buffoonery of the prosecutors so that defense counsel will have a record to use when they seek sanctions, something which is surely coming.
