Most of us also follow Gail Simone, so this is just a walk in the park.
October 13, 2025 - Worriers @ Cafe Colonial
I never got to see any of the previous incarnations of the Worriers. They turned in a much more sedate set than I would have expected given their earlier punk material, but that may be related to the fact that this tour heralds the end of the band.

October 13, 2025 - Tiny Stills @ Cafe Colonial
I've unintentionally missed their last half dozen visits to town, so I forced myself out into the weather for this one. They wound up playing to a huge friends and family crowd, and hopefully it won't take me another four years to catch them next time.

Not very unhinged, but: Stop reading a book if you're bouncing off of it. Stop "powering through." You're just wasting your time. You don't get a gold star for finishing books you're not enjoying reading.
Tell me your most unhinged literary opinion, as a little treat
I think the only non-creator specific item I've bought in recent years was a sit/stand desk. Mostly because the discount deal was quite good, and the company doing the sponsorship was in state (so I didn't have to report it as an out of state purchase on taxes).
Ghostbusters 2. I've always felt there is a much better film in there somewhere, if they would just re-edit. Particularly the ending reveal.
Yeah, I block all that crap. I have a non-zero amount of GN branded merch though.
Depends on whether sponsored content or creator merch counts.
I'm impressed at how quickly the obvious scam bot accounts get shut down. The last one vanished from my feed before I even had a chance to report and block it.
'Point Break'. (Comedy answer, 'Freaked')
Bonus points for the sheer amount of cat persistence in this episode.
That is one of the major things I miss about New York. Nobody in Northern California seems to know how to make a decent matzo ball soup.
October 11, 2025 - IAMX @ Harlow's
Second time IAMX has come to town. Still a spectacle, glad that I made it out.

October 11, 2025 - Club Drugs @ Harlow's
Interesting Chicago darkwave duo. Members swapped between percussion, guitar, bass, and synth. I'll have to keep an eye out for them in the future.

If they remade 'Chairman of the Board' with Leto in the Carrot Top role, would that end all life on our planet?
It lives in that weird TV limbo in my brain next to 'Duet' and 'Good Grief'.
This is one of those shows I watched for a season and then completely memory holed. I remember the theme song, the weird tornado cliffhanger and nothing else. I didn't even know that it came back for a second season.
In his youth, they called him "The Bunny".
I honestly don't understand why he has such a long running film career. In the last two and a half decades, I have only seen him in one thing (BR:2049) where he didn't detract from the quality of the film, or the quality of the film did not lower itself to meet his performance.
IAMX is my destination for tonight. Going to try for Softcult tomorrow and Tiny Stills on Monday if I can summon the energy.
It is a brutal listen, but so well done.
I had a similar reaction when I retired my 7yr old work monitor for a 4K. I continue to be shocked at how much of an upgrade it wound up being. Not something I would have paid $800+ for, but certainly worth the $450 sale price.
October 9, 2025 - Madi Sipes @ The Groove Yard
Madi performs so rarely, that I always put in extra effort to try and show up when they get added to a bill.
