Pat Buchanan didn't persuade intelligentsia by his works. He wrote books to persuade the people who thought a certain peculiar way that they were intelligentsia. No minds changed.

I think Brooks still doesn't understand that game.

I read one of those works in HS on a whim. Call it a vaccination.
